Although frustrating, it is a bit different preparing for a game that didn't go ahead, to having to play a game you haven't prepared for. So don't really get that argument.

This, but if it's true that most of Fulham's first team were rested on Saturday then chances are Fulham won't really lose out in the long run.

But Mourinho is very much on the wind-up trying to equate the cancellation with the rearrangement.

Speaking of mind games I bet Jose is quietly loving the fact that most of Parker's focus appears to be on arguing that the fixture shouldn't take place than preparing his players for the match.

Parker's done himself in here. I guess he's given himself an excuse if they lose. I like Scotty but given the way they've conducted themselves over Covid he really shouldn't be mouthing off like this.

I'd assume the preperation would be more about the fitness of the players. If it is Monday and you have a game on Friday the preperation would be different to if you had a game on Wednesday.

Fulham did rest most players on Saturday though, so a bit different to if they had a PL game at the weekend.

Maybe the frustration is that they would have scheduled a training session that went:
Sunday intense
Monday intense
Tues Moderate
Weds game

And instead didn’t get the prep the way they’d hoped

If SPurs make it through to the QFs of the FA Cup and Europa Cup (very possible), then we will have 3 mid-weeks free between now and the end of April.

This week
Next week
The week b4 the League Cup final.

Hopefully next week we will play the Villa game,leaving this week and 1 week in April.

If we make the QFs of the FA Cup that displaces a weekend game which will also need squeezing in, and if we make the FA Cup SF, that displaces another. Added to Fulham game, there would literally be more displaced games than available midweek slots to rearrange....unless we played it on a Monday or Tuesday before a European Cup semi-final on the Thursday!

We do have an outrageously taxing schedule.

Parker can be aggrieved with how short notice he has been given.

Both things can be mutually exclusive.

I am sure he'd whinge like hell if he had to play Sat Mon Thus Sun, in the last few weeks of the season to fit their fixtures in.

Much better this way, a local derby no travel, his team is well rested....its not like its a 6 pointer either.

Unsure really. If he’d been given the go ahead on Saturday like it was first touted then he’d definitely have less grounds for complaints.

Exactly. Looks like he is trying the mind games with his complaint if he knew from Saturday onwards. Hope we smash them.

seems like common sense to me... its a full midweek fixture list, and the game would have had to be played sooner or later...… sounds like Scotty is making excuses in advance... poor from him.
