will Ole get the credit he deserves

lets say the unthinkable happens, and come the end of the season we win the league.

we all know this board is split into olesexuals, people who have pochgasms, and those who cant make their minds up and throw their toys out the pram at the first sign of a defeat.. we will call them constantinofackalls

if we are champions after 38 games, will the pochgasms give ole the credit he will deserve, or will they use the bbbb bbbut it was a weird season argument??

If we were to win the league, it'd be put down to Liverpools injuries and it being a weird season due to Covid (even though Covid has effected us more negatively than anybody else).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
See this annoys me slightly (not about you just I the fact that a lot of fans and media would say this). Liverpool have had two bad injuries, VVD and Gomes, outside of that they havnt had anything out of the ordinary, it just so happens they are wilfully under prepared in the CB area. That’s on Klopp not ‘bad luck’, he’s been relying on injury prone centre midfielders to cover CB for 2/3 seasons and gotten away with it. If anything it’s extremely good luck that it’s taken this long to catch up. City lost their best CB (Laporte) for almost the whole of last season and had other injuries as well with KDB and others missing parts of the season but you don’t see anyone trying to detract from Liverpool’s achievements last season. Injuries are part and parcel of sport, whoever wins the league this year (City I believe) will do so on merit not because Liverpool suffered injuries.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats not really true though is it. Its not just 2. Matip has started 8 games this season. Thiago and ox have just come back having missed the full season so far just about. Keita has played about 3 games. We bought a lb to give robbo a breather every now and then and hes been out the full season just about. We bought a forward to give the front 3 a breather and hes likely to miss 2 months.

I accept injuries is part and parcel of football but its the length of time we have had guys missing. Teams usually pick up niggles where guys are out for a game or 2. The guys above are missing huge chunks of what is an already congested season.

That being said, as I have said ever since gomez went down injured, if we dont sign a cb in this window and fail to win the league we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’ve named Thiago, who had played one game I think for the club before his injury and has missed a couple of months so I’d half give you him due to his quality, Ox is a bit part player at most, a back up left back, a back up striker, and an injury prone midfielder whose been constantly injured since he signed. I reaffirm that you’ve suffered 2 (or 3 if you include Thiago) major injuries and if reports are to believed VVD infact is not dead at all and could be back by March. So while he is a huge miss, it’s no worse than city experienced last year and other teams in any season. Infact in December, Liverpool were only ranked 7th in regards no. Of games missed through injury by first team players.
Am not trying to diminish Liverpool’s injuries, especially VVD, as they certainly have an impact, but it is not this horrible injury crises that it’s made out to be and should not in any way take away from any team who wins the league, same way as city last year missing Laporte for most of the season, as well as Aguero (missed 13 premier league games), KDB and others, didn’t take away from Liverpool last season.

Ive already said mate that if we dont sign a centre back and fail to win the league its our own fault.

We will see how the season pans out. People maybe didnt make much of citys injuries last season as they finished 18 points behind us. Im sure if the gap was 2 or 3 points more would have been made of it.

In a season as congested as this all them bit part players would have had bigger roles to play. I wont be making any excuses if we come up short, whoever wins a league after 38 deserves it but if we do fall short by a couple of points I will lament our luck.

How about this, Ole deserves credit now for getting us into this position and he will deserve all the plaudits if he wins us the league.

that said, based on what he's done so far, I am doubful he will win it, but if he does, why would anyone not give him credit? I think we would all have to admit that he surpassed expectations.

Even if ole wins the league I don't think that detracts from some believin there are simply better managers out there that could do a better job.

Doing a good job and being the best for the job are two different conversations

Paid with money borrowed from mommy and daddy

Not long ago you were crying over how hard the pandemic had hit you financially

I assumed on finance, unless some major TV company finally paid the big bucks for Wedding Day Winners?

Yeah or that, love it, driving around like a pimp in a car on borrowed money

And then buying the cheapest model just to be able to throw BMW keys on the table at a party

Didnt United have 9 first team injuries at some point a season back?

Lots of teams go through these spells, scousers need to stop moaning about it.

ESPN and Talksport have the most bitter people regarding Man Utd and Ole. Craig Burley and Simon Jordan and Jason Cundy.
