Depending how you define longest serving, Blackman and RLC have been here longer

Piazon longest serving since first Chelsea app
Blackman longest serving since first professional Chelsea contract (never made a full appearance for us)
RLC longest serving if we count when they joined the academy

If you want to take academy time into account there are some right veterans!

And Blackmans senior career with us only spans 8 years compared to Piazons 9.5!

He was in the sense most of us thought he was Lucas Moura when he signed

I thought his only appearance was the Villa game where we won 8-0 under Benitez, which would make Azpi & Moses our longest serving players no? Or am I confusing him with someone else.

Yeah Piazon did get hyped a lot at the time he signed, there was definitely a few (retrospectively, very lazy) comparisons to Kaka. By virtue that he’s Brazilian, a no.10 and looks a little bit like him haha

@Brummie and Devil I was under the impression he made his official first app in 11/12 season I was wrong it was in the League Cup at the start of the 12/13 season. So you’re right Devil, Moses and Azpi probably/may have beat him by a few weeks if we go by first app

With Blackman I said signing from first professional contract when he was 18 - that would’ve been in about 2011 for him. Beats Piazon by a few months who officially signed a contract to run from Jan 2012. There could be an argument player’s sign their first professional contract with the two year scholarship academy players get at age 16, for Blackman that would be 2009

But to go back to RLC by most sources he’s the academy player in squad who’s spent longest with us since academy as started when he was like 6-7 or something (2003-2004?)

This has been some extreme procrastination for me

I saw him play for us in a night game once - possibly against Wolves or Hull (or someone else that plays in gold )
