When Liverpool and United were last in a

Title race:

Nice video. I remember Gerrard and Torres had a great partnership that year with Alonso and Mascherano in midfield behind. United weren't that good I don't think (not as good as they'd been the year before), but that may be because they played an obscene amount of games that year if I remember correctly. They probably would have won the league more comfortably if not for that.

Wouldn't surprise me to see James on the right and Rashford/Martial left. Not what I'd choose, but he might fancy James to help out against Robertson and Mane.

That wouldn't be a shock either. I think it depends on what we see as a priority. Winning, or not losing. I just think we need an 'out' early doors and Pogba would allow us that. We got great success at Anfield in 2015 with Fellaini playing that role towards left midfield. That's probably our best ever performance at Anfield that I can remember!

Getting a lot of pundits, Murphy being the latest saying there's been 'no better time' to go to Anfield, just all points to them giving us a drubbing in my pessimistic mind

Also, there were easier times to go to Anfield back when they were a lot shiiiitter and we were a lot better.

I suppose there is some truth in that they have not been in great form and are missing a few defenders. However, they're still very capable of giving us a hiding I'm sure!

The crowd not being there though may be a small factor though. I've felt before, even with SAF, we've let it get to us at times.

I feel like this is exactly the sort of game Klopp relishes even if he has seemed a bit rattled recently. But the big issue which will frustrate him is how weak his defence is right now. Both defenses are a bit suspect and I think it'll go down to which attack is more ruthless.

I still make Liverpool favourites as, apart from their issues at CB, they have the rest of their first XI available I believe. I do think they miss Fabinho in midfield when they play him at CB though. Even though he's looked good there too when he's played there.

I think Fabinho not in midfield is a huge loss for them, he really is important to how they operate, it'll be intersting to see how Thiago does for them when he's back fit. They are favourites because they are the better team and have a brilliant home record but they're not in great form and I think we have a chance. I think a lot depends on how much Klopp can get them motivated for the game, it's probably his strongest attribute as a manager.

The interesting factors for this game are varied imo.

Anfield with no crowd... good or bad thing? Usually a bad thing, but given their respective form, arguably Liverpool may benefit from not having that pressure and anxiety that can creep in.

Then there's how United set up. Do they contain, or do they smell blood and go for the win? Both have potential issues and hindsight will be the judge of what was the right approach.

Also, team selection for United - Pogba in good form but most people agree that a CM that has Bruno and Pogba in will probably get overrun against Liverpool.

Fascinating game and I will be feeling pessimistic beforehand no doubt - although it still feels like we're in bonus territory as no one expected us to be in this position anyway.

Was the 2009 title the record equalling 18th title? I think it was. Makes it even more funny that Liverpool were their closest challengers that year.

So if united keep this form up and we get our act together, the 2 (along with city) tussle for the title and we end up nicking it, will that be really funny as it will be a record equalling 20th?
