Shows how far we've come that I'm....

a bit disappointed we didn't win it. I think with those 2 big chances in 2nd half plus dangerous Rashford counters we should have taken at least 1.

Liverpool had loads of ball but looked absolutely toothless. Luke Shaw yet again had Salah on toast. Can't be a single player in world who has handled Salah as well as he has constantly. Superb.

Still top (for now). Huge progress from this team.

It's probably an exaggeration. But I do remember him conceding a daft pen in a 1-1 draw at OT against them a few years back

i was just a bit confused, hafi normally won't exaggerate, it's not in his OS

Yeah he gave a pen while missing a sitter in same half that was even easier than the one he missed today. That is a 2 goal swing that cost us 2 points.

27' Paul Pogba (Manchester United) probably handled the ball inside the penalty area. Liverpool are given a huge opportunity to score - it's a penalty kick!

Henrikh Mkhitaryan plays a lovely pass into Paul Pogba (Manchester United), but he can't find the target. His strike from inside the box goes narrowly wide of the right post. The ball goes out of play and Liverpool will have a goal kick.

bloody hell, you've memorised a MBM from 4 years ago!

I just copy and pasted it but I remember that game well as he missed a sitter and then gave a penalty away soon after under no pressure.

Annoyingly our run of scoring away from home came to an end after last failing to score at Anfield.

33% possession and most of it was poorly used at times. Not the first time but our use of the ball, ball retention especially must improve, it's not all about kick and chase footy.

At times in the second half we had good spells and could have snatched victory twice, one through Bruno and the other through Pogba.

I agree Shaw was head and shoulders above all our players even Pogba

Before the match I would've taken a point but as the game wore on Liverpool did look every inch makeshift and they were there for the taking

Shaw 7
Pogba 6
The rest between 4 and 5

The game as a whole was fairly mediocre.

Bruno Fernandes lost possession 19 times, more times than he completed passes (18 ) against Liverpool.

He wasn't alone though

No wonder he was peeved at being subbed, he probably thought someone else played as badly if not worse than him

I do think a lot of his frustration was probably due to the fact he knew he'd played poorly. Probably wanted to stay on in the hope of atoning for that by making a key contribution to a late winner

Quite possibly

It is a concern

I think a goal, assist aside it papers over how his overall game has dropped compared to last season, could be fatigue, who knows.

Ole also runs the risk of burning him out. Guy needs a break.

I think our tactics were correct. Liverpool always come out of the blocks quickly at home against us, and they tried to do that again, had a lot of possession but realistically didn't create much. We were the bigger threat in the second half and should have won with the chances we had. Like the OP would have taken that at 4.30, but does feel like we missed an opportunity to create a 6 point gap.
