Rashford - Immune to criticism?

Decent point last night. Our defense was great and Luke had Salah in his pocket for 90 mins who basically gave up trying to beat the LB after 60 mins.

However what's the deal with Rashford? It seems that he is immune to any sort of criticism. Any mention of Rashford's game and his defenders come out in swarms. Time after time he has displayed his lack of decision making. He is skillful alright but his decision making is almost Nani level frustrating.

But when you point it out the resident fanboys jump to his defense. He did jack all last night as he has for quite some time. However the worst bit was when we countered and he had the chance to release Cavani but decided to play the ball into the corner. Also what's with him unable to stay onside?

I have tried to critique him earlier but as usual the resident fanboys shot down any criticism of his. Talk about Wazza Part 2.

Is he getting sucked into politics which is affecting his form?

If you’re judging the team on purely footballing reasons him and martial should be replaced in the summer. Grealish would be an upgrade on the left

Have I missed something with the Son comparison?

There are several "untouchables" in the game, and to be honest, this is not always a good thing for the club and fans.

These players have no incentive to improve, particularly when they are not "doing it" on the pitch, simply because they get into the mindset of "I am the best around and can't be dropped"

Examples are:
Rashford - who has bought himself the golden ticket with his campaign stuff and won't ever be questioned on his performance.
Kane - more often than nor will be on it, but does disappear from games more often than Spurs fans would like. Particularly big games. But, again, walks on water in the game.
Fernandes - a good player no doubt, but he does have ineffective games. But who is gonna tell him ?
Salah - the media darling, but can ( and currently is ) playing poorly, and wastes many good chances. Not a good team player either. Again, who ever pulls him up ?

These are just a few, and there are many more.

As I say, if you have one of these untouchables in your team, it can act as a considerable negative. They will never be dropped, irrespective of form.

Perhaps now it's time for VDB to shine as I'm certain he'll be fit and raring to go. Dare I say it but he'll be like a new signing...

diallo's trained with the first team too, be helpful if he were able to make a few appearances from the bench

A Martial like impact against LFC next weekend would be good!

Rashford is definitely not undropable, nor Bruno.
Both earned the right to play some poor games, but if it's too many they would be 'rested'

He should be dropped. Did you see Cavani’s reaction yesterday when Rashford refused to pass the ball to him or to Pogba, preferring to go for goal alone ? Rashford’s greed cost us two points yesterday. It’s disgraceful.

Rashford seems to get a lot of stick on here but not as much as Martial who has been dire lately

Not true. Martial was our best player in the first half yesterday. And when he was subbed, nobody said a word in his defence. Rashford costs us points every game because of his greed.

I see more people complaining about not being able to criticise Rashford than I see people actually critisicing Rashford
