So.....Can Leicester Do It Again?!!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55727801

And what of our own title/top 4 ambitions going into the second half of the season?!

Despite what’s gone before, we are still well in the mix, which makes all those late goals/draws all the more annoying!!

Thoughts?

I don't see why not. It's a very topsy turvy season and they sit at the top of the table at their half way point. People have to start looking at them as having a real chance. I don't get these people who keep making City and Liverpool the favourites like no other team can get better and win a title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s simply because those 2 teams have purchased the best players and are better teams.
That’s why they are labelled the favourites.

One of them 2 will win the league, not Leicester.

I recall Claudio Ranieri’s proclamation to the footballing world that he intended to surge ahead and try to win the title 5 years ago. It was one of those defining moments that will linger with me for many a year. I can’t quite remember if BRodge has made an announcement on similar lines but I would hope, once those sights are guided on the ultimate target, and he has the team in a immensely strong position, he will step up and blow his trumpet in a similar vane.

As before, if my lads were to maintain top or 2nd spot for much of the season and they fall during the closing stages, it will be a bitter pill to swallow and nothing less.

All that said, a resurgent Manchester City look the most likely to take top spot, certainly on current form and Manchester United will probably give them a run for their money.

I would say unlikely.

When you look at the squads of: Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd (apart from defence) you would have to say that we shouldn’t be competitive really. I also expected Chelsea to be up there having spent the best part of a quarter of a billion pounds.

Realistically, we’re competing with Arsenal to nudge them out of a Europa League place, but Everton, Southampton and Aston Villa will also have aspirations to do that.

We would truly have excelled if we manage to beat the likes of Spurs for the final CL place. Not impossible, but tough to maintain the required form for a whole season and proved beyond us last time out.

Winning it? I don’t think so - but stranger things have happened.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Example?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Er ..... Leicester City winning the Premier League in 2015/16 having barely stayed up the previous season

Duck! Because I think the joke is going over your head

They are a decent team but they won`t win it, they`ll finish 6th or 7th imo.

They have some players I would love at Spurs, some of their recruitment has put ours to shame.

Nope, definitely not for me.

Way too reliant on Vardy ( whose's one trick pony style should have been sussed out ages ago btw ) and Madison. Either get injured for a period and they will drop like a stone. Top 4, just, but easily slip back to 5th or 6th.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're joking - right?

Vardy hasn't scored in the last five league games and Maddison (and other key players like Ndidi and Pereira) have already spent long periods of this season injured.

If anything is likely to cause us problems, it'll be the fact we're still in the FA Cup and the Europa League.

We are not a one- or two-trick pony.

Bit touchy mate. I did not say Leicester were a one trick pony, but that Vardy was. Look, this forum is all about opinions. I personally see a player that relies totally on out running a defender to a ball punted over the top. Plus he takes penalties, of which you get a lot. He is what was once termed "a goal hanger" and basically hangs around waiting for the long ball. Not much help when the team is under pressure and needs everyone back helping out.
I think if you are going to get all moody every time someone says your team won't win the league, then perhaps this type of forum is not for you.
