Lots of Math Help Required Please

So help me understand what's going on here please if we can, educated people.

What was the debt Mel inherited on our club when he brought it?

How much did he spend on the ""schpunking"* estimate??

*The Schpunking refers to BJ, Butters, Bent, Ince etc. etc.

No way I think we can work out what the wage bill would have been, any speculation??

However, correct me if I'm wrong but I presume the "schpunking" and subsequent wage bill, grossly outweighed our revenue. In order to avoid being Fawazed by the EFL, Mel sold the stadium to himself, to show more revenue on the books.

Did he sell the training ground to himself also or was that an existing overhead he took on?

What do our debts now stand at?

So has Mel covered from his own money:

Wage Bill
"Schpunking"
Selling of the stadium to himself.

Minus our annual revenue.

What were the phantom new owners offering for the club?

What was Mel asking? To buy the club and pay off the overly inflated value of the stadium plus Moor Park (If that wasn't an outstanding debt)?

It's not a very attractive investment is it.

Cheers Rapsta

Will check this out now.

I guess it boils down to how much does Mel want for us?

How much debt do we currently owe?

Has Mel washed his hands of us? No judgment on that part just would be nice to know where we stand.

Very interesting Rapsta and sobering.

Wonder how many fans would support a maximum wage for football players to ensure the clubs didn't go under.

The broadcasting rights though for me has always been the biggest contributor to inequality in this game.

I propose that it is a Universal Human Right to watch my football club for free on the tele without subscription or adverts.

This is an older article but highlights the complexities surrounding the structure of modern day football clubs. Not sure it answers any of your questions directly but it is doesn't take much imagination to understand why Derby are now in the mess they are. We are now seeing the culmination of prior decisions coming home to roost.....

Thanks for that Rapsta, after reading that, its no wonder Steve Gibson has a face like a poor farmers ar5e!

It did say that the Owners make that rule though not the EFL. So Steve Gibson telling the EFL they need to charge us for breaching a rule that didn't exist is a bit daft.

He could have just said "that's not fair and we need to make a rule that you can't sell your stadium to yourself".

It's not in the spirit of the game thougg.

Begs the question why did we still spend money in 2019/20 shouldn't we just have had a mini fire sale plus austerity.

Maybe Mel was starstruck by Lamps n Rooney.

Ince and Vydra were OK signings as we got more back than what we paid. Butterfield, Johnson, Camara, Albentosa, Sammon, we got nothing back. There were also fees for renting players such as Mount, Tomori and Wilson H (good value), Best, Dowell, Paterson, Wilson J (poor value). Basically we have been crap in transfer market.

There used to be loads of complaints about Nigel Clough's newsagent brother but he seemed more effective than those who have followed.

Derby's scout is sponsored by Guide Dogs for the Blind.

We never seem to address the issue that these are not poor players. They obviously did well before joining, and some went on to perform better thereafter.

Too easy to blame players, we rarely accept that sometime they don't fit, and sometimes the coaching goes awry.

Hi 2W. I dont think we particularly need to do the maths on this situation. It's all down to simple economics I think.
As I've said several times no money coming in= Mel having to pay all the dcfc bills out of his own pocket. The overheads with no income must be horrendous. Which is why Mel is looking for investors. Fact is though Mel is worth £400m+. Should he have to fund it himself ? Well no, but the fact is that's what he has ATM. Mel though is no spring chicken and he cant take his money with him when he falls off the perch can he ? So, I say to Mel - kick the Sheik into touch, pay the players what they're owed and give Wayne a bit of dosh to bring in a couple of new players. If the club gets relegated it;s value will diminish even more and we'll end up the Sunderland of the Midlands.
