As most are aware signing players is going to be difficult for Spurs, especially those who do not class as homegrown.
Dele and Winks are our two players who are most sought after and they're two of a few of our homegrown lads, who i would keep. It is going to be difficult in this climate to be able to splash inflated fees on homegrown players to meet squad requirements should one or both of them leave.
The squad needs sorting big time. Lets have a look at a number of players, the majority i would not want to see at the club beyond the summer.
Tottenham's non-homegrown players
Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris, Paulo Gazzaniga
Defenders: Serge Aurier, Matt Doherty*, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Joe Rodon*, Davinson Sanchez, Ben Davies*, Sergio Reguilon
Midfielders: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Moussa Sissoko, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Gedson Fernandes(ignoring him)
Attackers : Son Heung-min, Carlos Vinicius, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela
*Classed as homegrown in the Premier League
A better keeper than Hart, okay as second choice but he has now found himself as third choice and out of squads altogether. Both parties need him out.
18 months left on his contract. Had a good season this season, wouldn't be against him signing a new deal but ultimately he is still a liability, and one who has always had an eye on leaving himself. See if a decent offer comes in and accept it.
I kinda feel for him. He still has potential but the ship has sailed for him at Spurs, too rash and appalling on the ball. Could be a decent CB in another league. See if somehow we can recoup £20m or something, no profit making nonsense, he needs to be sold, cant just have a player we spent £40m on not starting most games and being pretty gash when he does.
Especially as we seem to be targeting a top CB according to reports, this will leave us stacked in this area, to bring in a top CB from overseas we will need to get Sanchez off the wage bill.
One of my favourite Spurs players of the last 6 years or so. Our best defender still but seems to randomly get left out of the team unjustly. Been linked to PSV of late, he does turn 32 this year but i think he will still do a job for us until the end of his contract, as he doesnt have a great deal of sell on value now. On that i would keep.
See Toby re also turning 32 this year and can still do a job as a useful squad player until his contract runs out, seeing as no sell on value. A player thats needed to be upgraded on in the first team though, however young Skipp could solve that problem.
For the love of god please go. Like him and he is always good for first few months of the season, but whats the point, injuries are a joke and hes been here 8 years. Should have been facked off a long while ago. Surely we could get something from Italy. Not a bad squad player when fit but really isnt needed for the position he plays.
Headless chicken. Waste of a foreign player spot. Get rid. Ta for the hat trick.
Really like the look of him, not been given enough premier league minutes. We will see how he does the last half of the season, but the £38m buy clause looks very steep, however we need to assess whether there is anyone realistically we could get for that sort of role for that price or less.
So say: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Sanchez, Lucas and Lamela go in the summer
We can plan targets in positions of priority GK, CB, RB, CM and RW in the summer (assuming Vinicius is signed on or we could always loan another striker).
Doubt anything will be happening this month, Dele may go to PSG on loan for the rest of the season, thats all i can see happening.
