Goodbye Tomori

Yet another terrible decision. Young, quick and athletic with loads of room to improve and not only do we ship him out on loan but Milan include the option to buy for only 30m euros. That's nothing in today's market and it's yet another player Lampard has managed to mismanage and not get the best out of. He may be a Chelsea legend but at the moment Lampard is doing immeasurable damage to our club.

I'm surprised that lampard has had practically no time for him given what a great job he did for him at derby

Loan him to AC and give Inter the option to buy?? Interesting.

Should be fine, we've got the number 1 defender still at the club, Andreas.

Oh well, as they say ‘here today, gone Tomori’.

Have to admit I'm gutted about this. I don't understand a) why we're loaning Tomori out when he could be playing here, especially as CB position is very much up for grabs. And b) why on earth we'd give Milan the option to buy him for about £25 million which is peanuts these days.

I'm totally stumped

Ridiculous.
You wouldn't have known a thing about Tomori, if that manager you claim "mismanaged and not get the best out of him"...didn't give Tomori the platform to make over 50 starts at Derby (Derby's POTY) and then a pathway in playing for one of the biggest club in Europe (14 PL + 4 CL starts, debut season), Frank put him on the map.
Engage brain before mouth and don't bother using that as a stick to beat Frank with henceforth

Inserting the option to buy is nothing unusual, this is standard when loaning to Italian clubs.

The 30m euros that you claim is nothing...is quite a lot for Italian clubs in this current (covid) climate, unlikely to be triggered owing to financial constraints.
AC Milan have only been able to afford loan signings and buys under 5m this summer...

The chances of AC Milan triggering the clause are slim to none for that reason, and especially as Tomori only joined them mid-season on a short-term deal...likely to be backup to first choice pair; captain Romagnoli & Kjaer challenging for a title.
I'd actually question how much significant game-time Tomori will get at Milan in the short period, seeing as he has no match-fitness or sharpness.

Gotta agree with CMF on this one.

Lets say Milan did activate that clause, the way I look at it is Lampard just made the club an easy 25mil. Hard to argue against him being underutilized him but he wasn't anything special before Lampard started coaching him to begin with.

This isn't a KDB situation where the talent was there before we bought him, was there back out on loan, was there in pre-season yet was offloaded anyway for a cut price deal. Tomori is a product of Lampard's coaching at pro-level, so anything we get from him (money or good performance) is credited to Lampard.
