It was the dreaded away tie to lower league opposition. Unusually for these matches, the pitch was in good condition. City fielded a much changed team, couple of young players and a few others playing their first game for a while. It turned out to be a great tie. Cheltenham raised their game, and - let's be honest - scared the crap out of us. We broke them in the end but only with 9 minutes left. Watching it as a neutral was probably great fun. Watching it as a City fan was pure purgatory. Well done and good luck Cheltenham.
Did we learn anything? Doyle looks a prospect. Foden is awesome. Mendy oh dear.

I think their goal would have stood but we'd have got a couple of penalties if VAR had been in use.

Which we would probably have missed Boris, no idea why we are so bad at them. Bring Franny Lee back from retirement to train them!

I notice Lineker got a sly dig in there about us "scraping past Cheltenham".
Sad fekker.

I forgot Yaya, best record of a PL penalty taker ever. Bring him in for a week or 2
