Leeds United
Leeds are boosted by the return of first choice goalkeeper Illan Meslier and Kalvin Philips has served his ban

However, the Whites remain without Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi, while Diego Llorente is not yet match-fit.

Newcastle United

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Leeds are looking to complete the league double over Newcastle for the first time since 1975-76.
Newcastle have won eight of the past 12 meetings in all competitions, drawing two and losing two.

Newcastle United
Newcastle are winless in eight league matches, drawing twice and losing six.
They have lost their last four league matches - the longest current sequence in the Premier League.
The Magpies could lose home and away games against a promoted side for just the third time in the Premier League.
Newcastle have won just three of their past 13 matches at St James' Park, drawing four, losing six and keeping one clean sheet.
They have only attempted 82 shots after nine Premier League home games, their lowest tally since Opta records began in 2003.
Steve Bruce has never lost a home league match against Leeds as a manager, winning five and drawing twice. (Time we changed that )

Leeds United
Leeds have lost three successive games in all competitions without scoring.
The Whites are in danger of losing four matches in a row for the first time since November 2017.
They have lost five of their past eight fixtures, winning the other three - 32 goals were scored over that period.
Marcelo Bielsa's side have scored in all but one of their nine away league fixtures.
Leeds have conceded 34 goals, with only West Brom letting in more.
Patrick Bamford scored seven goals from 29 shots in his first eight games this season but has since only scored three goals from 36 shots in 10 matches.

Right, Hopefully the Lads are well up for this and will relish getting our first Premier League double, Newcastle desperate for a win so will be no pushovers, Trusty 1-2 for me with Raph n Rod scoring

I'm hoping this result restores confidence and belief because I think the pressure is off slightly with that victory and players like Bamford, Klich and Philips can be more dominant and influential than they were tonight starting against Leicester at the weekend.

Great result for us but I’m more relieved than triumphant. We needed that win.

I agree we were lucky tonight as I thought Newcastle played well. Fortunately they are worse than us with their final ball! We needed the points and that’s the main thing at this time.

Shame about Llorente though. Looks like a few weeks out with a hamstring

He is looking like a bad buy so far
Has he even completed a full half of football for us yet?

Yes. He has.

Lot of players dedicating that win to Rob Price. Not sure what has gone on there, but Phil Hay says personal matters, and condolences have been offered. So thoughts out to Rob for whatever has gone on.

Llorente appears to be the 2020s Jonathan Woodgate!

Well a win is a win. Performance not great but as Karen would say, just delighted to be through to the next round.

Too early to write him off. He reminds me of a certain Mr Woodgate. Injury prone but excellent when playing. Hopefully he will be as good as Woody but time will tell.
