I've said all along I don't want Dele sold, and I don't think he will leave permanently in January. But.. not even making the bench last night is a pretty clear sign he's off. Rumour has it Levy is up for letting him go if we get a replacement in.
So who's it to be? Given the boring situation with squad quotas we're limited to either homegrown or a kid. Or we just sign someone and figure it out later.
Grealish? Maddison? Probably too expensive even if they'd sell.
Sabitzer? Odegaard? Draxler?
Dele's replacement

Just to add re Maddison, it would be ludicrously arrogant to assume we could take one of Leicester’s best players, they are right up there with us in terms of what they are competing for, they’ve won the PL recently, finished above us last season, are a wealthy, stable club that have got it right from the board to the manager right through to youth recruitment. Other than the intangible ‘big six’ privilege we don’t have any particular superiority over them in the current food chain.
They are competing where they are because they are well run; like us during the 2015-18 period. Us saying why don’t we look at Maddison is like Arsenal fans saying ‘why don’t we look at Kane’ back then. Pure delusion.

both clubs on a similar level, we had been well run over a longer period and had more time at the top, but more recently the recruitment and recycling of players from Leicester has been second to none and shats all over ours.

is getting rid of dele and bringing in a non HG even an option? aren't we on the borderline of falling foul of HG regulations?

Yes. I think if Gedson leaves too we can bring another foreigner for the Prem squad to replace Dele. The problem is the ropey league. Gedson, Gazza and Rodon missed the last squad cut. You would think Rodon would be included for the next round but at the expense of who? Sanchez or Toby would the obvious choice.
If we bring in a foreigner to replace Dele I would then look at dropping Doherty as we have Aurier, Tanganga and even Sissoko who could play there. Harsh on Doherty but he would not be missed imo.
Happy to be corrected on any of the above as it is abit complicated..

Good call. If Dele does go on a loan that'd make a lot of sense.
