Liverpool, despite their poor form, are still a very dangerous team particularly up front. A couple goals vs Utds suspect defence at the weekend will have boosted them and they always seem to score against us - Dr Tottenham certainly proved a tonic to Firmino who put his late winner vs Spurs in the top corner - but has subsequently returned to failing to hit a barn door.
We have seen very defensive performances against top teams, especially away from home. But these are the games that justify the approach, if we can get over the line.
A loss, no matter how we perform, is simply unaccpetable. Like i said, there has to be a pay off for the more defensive approach and that has to be points. If we are to lose then we might as well lose 7-6 having thrown everything at them.
A draw I do not think we can complain too much about a point in these big games. This would be more acceptable if we had managed the same or better at Anfield, but at our stage of development, to come out of these bigger games without having lost, is ok. Its not a big statement though. It's not what we want or need at this stage.
A win With Utd losing last night, Leicester & EFC also dropping points, and our games in hand, the chance is there to really step up. To grasp this moment to close the gap and place ourseves in the mix. Also a chance to open the gap to other threats such as Chelsea and AFC as well as putting some distance between us & LFC.
A win tonight would be a huge step forward, it would be a huge result in a massive game at a crucial time in the season and our development. It could be a real springboard for a good run of form.
Lets face it, we do not expect to win becasue of all our failings that show their heads at time like these. It is these big games and big moments that Jose is here for. He is supposed to be able to make the difference at in these moments.
The performance vs City was one of those moments. Probably gave them too much possession but the tactic and the execution was almost perfect, and the result was.
What comes to pass tonight will give us a good indication of where we are going this season, particularly in terms of mentality and ability to deliver on the big occasion.

yeah its fine not liking it but i dont see the problem with finding it amusing and harmless though which i do. i support and love the football club, along with that comes connection with fellow fans and these sort of tags come with that and unite with banter.
