yeah obviously my article was a joke
neither of the Leipzig guys would come to us and Skriniar i have barely seen play, just one we seemed close to

RodOn does look good, guy needs a settled defence around him and Jose keeps facking around with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rodon looks quality, just pair him with Toby and get Dier running around the stands looking for people.

Vinny has done well in the bits and pieces role his been given.

The fact Jose wont start him in the prem is shocking. Bale should be no where near the starting 11.

Selling Sissoko and replacing him with Skipp is a no brainer move imo, gets our non homegrown count down to 18 just like that

Then replace

Gazza (I'd keep but he's off apparently and Hart is shiite)
Aurier/Doherty
Sanchez/Dier (both have their moments but need to clear room for a CB)
Lamela
Lucas
Vinicius (wouldn't be against bringing him back if the price was right)

With atleast one of them being replaced by a homegrown player so that we're no longer above the limit

Another option would be to keep both Sanchez and Dier and loan out Tanganga to clear the room, We'd have to sign another homegrown player that way but Tanganga does need CB minutes eventually

Homegrown options at each position:

GK - Darlow and Johnstone both at clubs who could be going down

RB - Lamptey is the obvious one. Bogle is an option but more of a prospect so not the instant improvement that we need. If Lamptey wasn't gettable then we should be looking at non homegrown options here.

CB - Similar problem to RB where you'd say that Tarkowski is the only one who's a definite upgrade on what we have, and even then I'm not sure he's good enough to be a Dias/VVD type signing and instead would just making us a bit more solid. Would look at non homegrown options here personally

10 - Doesn't have to be a day one starter so can be flexible here. Eze would have been perfect but Jose torpedoed that. Olise seems like a very sensible move if the release clause rumours are true.

Wide Forward - Again, just need a squad option here. Edwards and Madueke are two exciting ex academy players, not sure how realistic a return would be. Diangana probably getting relegated, Lookman always struggled for minutes at Leipzig. Think the best case scenario is that Jack Clarke has a genuinely productive loan spell at Stoke and we feel confident about having him as a bench option

CF - lot of noise about ings, Wilson could be relegated. Not sure how gettable Bamford is. Armstrong and Toney having impressive championship seasons

think Lamptey just signed a new contract for Brighton?

probably be better teams looking at him.

were rumours of Aarons again at Norwich for RB.

agree with all of that though. Eze would have been great but the Palace move was such a better move for him.

Ings should be gettable if we really went for it early.

How come Doherty isn’t on the ‘out ‘ list?!!!

Wink too for that matter...

Everyone blames Jose for some of our performances, but I believe that it’s down to the players mainly...

Apart from Lloris,Reguilon,Holjberg, N’Dombele,Son, Lo Celso & Kane... the rest are bang average or poor

Davies, Aurier,Doherty, Sanchez & Winks are just poor, definitely not good enough..

It’s sad that Aurier & Doherty are so bad, that they can’t be trusted to play as right back...

I would play Tanganga there... put Sissoko back in the middle, alongside Holjberg...
