Great top flight footy club names

Following up on the slow day topics... which are your favourite football team names from any top flight leagues around the world? I often skim through livescore out of boredom and there are a few great ones in obscure

Ghana is probably my favourite for overall strength in depth, Eleven Stars and Great Olympics being just a couple ... but whenever I do look up the Ghanaian league the first team I always check in on is the Ebusua Dwarfs.

The other day I noticed that Tunisia has a side called Croissant, who Luis Suarez would surely relish playing.

But my favourite recent find comes from the Zambian top flight, the superbly named Prison Leopards.

Anyone else got any good ones?

I've actually seen City play TNS in the UEFA Cup.

City's easy draws go back more than a decade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surprised such a small club made it into the UEFA cup back then?! And I’m not talking about TNS

It was through the 'fair play' back door.

Because City always play fair.

Picked up a great The Strongest shirt when I was in La Paz.

Lined and heavy as fack with black and bright yellow bumblebee stripes and a giant tiger logo on the front.

Absolutely boss.

Deportivo W@nka
Deportivo Moron
FCuntum
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moron’s actually a place name and relatively common surname in Spain. Stress is actually on the second syllable though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As in Mitsubishi Pajero, which means w@nker in Spain.

Lion City is the English translation of Singapore, Tusker is the biggest selling beer in Kenya.

Some of them aren't that bizzare.

No one asked for bizarre names

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one said they were excluded.

Missing the point

Yup, they had to rename it Montero for the Spanish market.

Tokyo Nippon Ham Fighters is wonderful.

Always found Gamba Osaka amusing too, but that's because gamba in Spanish means shrimp.

Just seen that the team top of the Indian second flight is called Churchill Brothers. Really?

Another one to add to the list...

Only just found out that the TP in the name of Congolese top dogs TP Mazembe is the abbreviation of the French "Tout Puissant", i.e. "All-Powerful/Almighty". Mazembe apparently means Crows.

So, TP Mazembe - The Almighty Crows.

A significant improvement on one of their earlier names:

FC Englebert.

The Almighty Crows - that sounds like a metal band.
