A Home Grown Player, as defined by the Premier League, is a player who: (a) is 21 or older on January 1 of the year in which that season begins; and (b) spent three years between the ages of 16 and 21 with a team in the English football League system.

I read that Klopp has had to go ahead with it to get a loan fee to cover the Kabak and Davies deals. Could be bolloxs

Kabsk is U21 so doesn't matter if he's foreign.

I think Origi being played was done more for ‘shop window’ reasons than be adjudged better than Mina. I’m surprised he is still with us, all due respects to him.
Minamino, for me, is part of the future for the club. The move will get him more game time, and that can only be good for him.

I like both players but I'm not sure what Minamino has done to make him more likely to be part of the future that Origi hasn't?

Think Minamino has more of a longer-term future than what Origi does. Origi has been here a while now and has always been a bit part player and he's been linked with moves away with last couple of windows, I'll be surprised if he isn't gone by next January at the latest.
Minamino just needs some consistent game time which I think he will get at Southampton, it's a good chance at a good team to prove that he is undervalued and gain some confidence and get completely up to speed with this league. He's shown glimpses, but that's it. The ability is there for me, he's done some good stuff at Liverpool, only if it is glimpses and he looked like a good talent at Salzburg as well, he just needs a good opportunity.
