Thoughts from tonight

A few weeks ago was really disappointed by performances.

Tonight team played well, good passing, good movement, let down all too frequently by pitch where there seemed to be someone on the floor permanently.

First goal, I think a bit of inexperience from Struijk as to positioning, but again we outnumber opposition in our box and they walk through us.

Second goal, Ayling completely loses the player he's marking, easy goal.

The man marking just doesn't work for us in defence, I like Ayling but these basics are killing us.

The other side of Ayling was also apparent, drives us forward time after time, same with Dallas whom interchanged with Alioski and Harrison to give Everton a real handful on our left.

I thought Struijk do ok overall, but Cooper was great, real captain, getting stuck in, giving some sort of confidence at the back.

Raphinia makes such a difference, takes his shots so quickly, gives opposition such little time to react as we saw with his goal and whilst talking about shots, what a volley from Alioski that hit the post, its why I think Alioski should be as high up the pitch as we can play him.

It was one of three attempts that hit the woodwork and with us finally encountering a keeper who played out of his skin we struggled to keep up the chances on goal despite good passing and movement.

Bamford worked his socks off again, Roberts too worked hard and that's a few games now injury free but not much impact, same for Hernandez, who makes a bit more impact but also gives the ball away (wonder if this is why Bielsa reluctant to play him) and Costa has no real time to make any sort of impact.

I was wondering where Raphinia was second half, he really drifted out of the game, but class player and hope he's fully fit for games ahead.

Hope pitch settles down because it was far too slippy tonight, bit overall was really pleased with performance tonight, if we keep playing like that we'll pick up a lot more points.

Well played team.

As long as most are enjoying our game and the players are being praised for punching well above their weight, why give a toss about the negatives that are festering in a few clueless heads?..

This team are doing a great job and as long as they're doing their bit we should be doing exactly as we are!..

Supporting and backing this team and its players to keep "their" club in this league!..

Outside a Cellino this club will be fine, we'll be in this league next year and the next part of the building will be put in motion!..

Forever Leeds, forever Proud and long my it continue!..

Germany.....Dare we add Ken Bates and GFH to the list?!?!?!?

We all remember the nerves when Radrizzani first edged his way into the club...all the suspicions which had become second nature to most of us.

For now, his model of stability is definitely the best option for us, and hopefully any big money movements of players out of the club will not be about financial profiteering but reinvestment to help fund growth within the club.

Some have spoken in this respect of the Leicester model, but I have pondered how Kalvin, being a Leeds boy, would respond to a proposd big money move away in this respect. He stayed the first time, becuase he wanted to play with Leeds in the Premier League. so this time, the dynamics of any move would be very different. I also wonder how many of us would respond if his transfer were to be even mooted this summer?

I'm not saying we should emulate any particular team, but there is a real problem with the defence and has been for the last couple of seasons as well. I know most on here would rather lose 3-2 than win 1-0 but give me 1-0 wins all day long.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We conceeded 35 goals in the league last season, which was the fewest, we were one of only two teams to conceed less than 45 in the league.

That was down from 50 conceeded the previous season.

If having the best defense in the league constitues a problem I would have hated to be any of the other teams in the league.

In what way ws our defense a problem last year?

Other than Liverpool, how many other teams in this league have had the bad luck we have had with defenders. We buy two CB's and both are injured at the same time.
The bulk of Everton's attacks were down our right flank last night, rookie defender playing out of position much more likely to make a mistake. That said, Struijk, apart from the obvious positional error on their first goal, had a solid game.
Something that interested me Cresswell was on the bench and not the older more experienced Casey. For those who didn't see the game on Monday, Cresswell played RCB when he normally plays on the left, there must have been some thinking behind that.

Estaremos, I remember when AR asked Cellino for a cut to buy new players before he took full control, Cellino said it'd be a complete waste off money but AR still wanted it!..

I don't think he's the sort that'll take anything away from the Footballing side of things, he's already shown that by pumping what he made with promotion straight back into the team!..

As for Phillips, he could have gone last season but wanted to see which way the club was going, I think the club is exactly where he wants it to be!..

It'd have to be a hell of a offer to take him away from this club!..

"Germany.....Dare we add Ken Bates and GFH to the list?!?!?!?"

I was thinking about adding them all but wanted to leave as many of those skeletons as possible where they now are!..

We’d all take 1-0 wins every day, cos we’d be champions!
So, given that we face different qualities of teams in the season, what is it specifically that you would do if you were in charge, or would advise AR or Bielsa, to do, which you think would move us towards the type of team or players able to do what you would prefer??

please name these morons who would rather lose than win. oh yeah there aren't any.
the mistake in defense will lessen with experience. i love watching us the last three years more so than at any time in the last 20.
those one nothing wins with wood and monk were the only way we were going to win at all. what did we finish that year 7th? and that was not in the best league in the world.
you can't really say where we can finish when we still haven't played our best eleven. at least i don't think we have. would have loved to have got the double on everton but they've been in the pl forever and know how to win when they're not the best team. look to finish above them next year.

Jose is lucky, that there is no fans in the stadiums.

He’s stinking the place out.

There no need for it.

Football is greatest sport in the world, and not because of chancers like Jose.

I think you see it time and time again that a lot of managers have a shelf life.

The longer they are about the less and less returns they get, the game moves on, players react different, your reputation changes, your style goes stale.

whatever it is, Jose is at that stage now for me, he is past it and isint a top, top, level manager anymore.

He is getting to the stage where he ships of to China or The Middle east for his final payday package
