In his two previous management roles at Mainz and Dortmund, Klopp has lasted 7 years, give or take. In both instances he has achieved success, before performance levels have tailed off towards the end of his tenure.
Much has been made of Klopp's brand of football and the physical demands that it puts on his players. It has been suggested that players cannot maintain the levels required for a sustained number of seasons and that eventually it will take its toll on their body.
So my question is; are we starting to see the beginning of Klopp's 'seven year itch'? Is the intensity that Klopp's brings both mentality and physically now wearing the players down? Is this the beginning of the end of his time at Liverpool, or just a temporary blip?
Klopp's seven year itch?

We'll sign a CB without question. Atm that's looking likely to be Kabak if he performs well in his 6 month loan but even if not and he's sent back, we'll sign another CB.
CM at least one I would have thought because Wij is likely to move on and Milner simply can't go on forever!
Forward depends on movement out tbh. I expected Shaqiri to leave last summer tbh but I think there's a good chance that he and Origi will move on. With Minamino having been loaned out so question marks about his long term future I'd say there's likely to be a couple of replacements.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you need a CM though?? Milner will play one more year so you'd have:
Fabinho
Keita
Ox
Henderson
Jones
Thiago
I just don't see how that'd mean you need a new one. Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Keita and Ox are barely fit and the latter hasn't impacted games in a long time. So that's 4 consistent midfielders for 3 slots for a club that plays 60 games a season.
Brilliant idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt Klopp will sell Keita or Ox. He raves about them from what i've seen.

Still need to replace Milner and Gini even if Keita or Ox suddenly become decent reliable players.

Milner will stay one more year won't he? I thought his contract is until 2022.

Relying on the fitness of Keita and Ox would be the triumph of hope over expectation! Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see Keita return to Germany.
I'm hopeful we've learned something from this years CB debacle and wouldn't want to risk a repeat in CM next year.
I don't think any of these will be superstar signings btw. They'll likely be players similar to Jota - mid-price with a lot of potential.

But what about the finances though? Where will the money even come from?? Liverpool won't want to spend more than about 25 million this summer, pandemic, revenue down, Anfield empty etc etc.

Klopp is astute, a good (but time consuming) learner and a good adaptor.
As an outsider he could see better what was required for winning this league. Leicester's win gave him the final part of the necessary blueprint.
He learnt from that more than any other manager, and like Wenger before him, he realised taking ordinary players, playing them in the right positions and developing confidence through results would work. There were no really special players at that club just good ones being used correctly.

I agree generally with this. Is Klopp a top tactician? No. Is he a brilliant motivator that gets every last drop from his team? Yes.
He's more a Harry Redknapp kind of manager than a cerebral, tactical innovator like prime Mourinho at Porto and Chelsea

This basically.
May bring Elliot into the squad rather than replace Origi and Shaqiri.

Average players can only give you so much. Eventually they need to be replaced. To play the way they play, you need a large squad full of quality players.
The likes of Henderson and their full backs are bang average and the team knows it too. It is why players like Wijnaldum and Salah are batting their eyelids at Barca and Madrid.
They better hope Mane isn't thinking of leaving as well

This makes absolutely zero sense.
