Highest Paid Player In EVERY Premier League

Great video on the highest paid player in the PL between 1992-2021.
No surprise that players from Man Utd and Chelsea appeared a lot but it's surprising that Man City didn't appear that many times

During the same period we've spent £226.8m which is also a hell of a lot of money considering our defence isn't that great. But still quite a lot less that you've spent in the same period.

Telles £13.5m
Maguire £78.3m
Wan-Bissaka £49.5m
Dalot £19.8m
Lindelof £31.5m
Bailly £34.2m

Peps won 2 premier league,an FA cup and 3 league cups though so I think you’d have to say he’s getting far more bang for his buck

Yes he has, I'm not doubting that. I was simply pointing out that City have spent a huge amount on their defence and have wasted quite a bit. United have too and probably still need to improve it quite a bit.

No wonder City are favourites and walking the league having spent that much in defenders alone.

I suspect they don’t feature much between 92 and 2021 because the PL has been going on a lot longer than City‘s successful period. They’re a rather small club with a nice sugar daddy if you’d forgotten

1992 was when United and Arsenal decided they wanted to keep all the money for themselves and started a league structure they thought would ensure that.

It was actually United, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Arsenal who got the PL off the ground because they were the most successful sides in England at the time. I'm sure if City were winning stuff then they would have been involved too.

Why is it surprising that City is not in there a lot when they never really break any transfer records?

They dont spend 80 million on a donkey like Lukaku, they spend 90 million on 3 good players.

So in the end they spend more, but not on single players.

Looking at all of those figures, Maguire actually looks like a bargain

If anyone believes any financial figures that City produce they need their head checking. Football leaks found information that Mancini may have had an £8m payment whilst City manager which wasn't declared.

They were recently fined for not cooperating with Uefa's enquiry into their alleged cheating and we also heard stuff about possible breaches were time barred to 5 years anyway so they couldn't be punished for them.

If your club had done absolutely nothing wrong you'd cooperate fully to embarrass Uefa. The fact City didn't shows they are definitely not squeaky clean at all.

Why didn't you go to the CAS tribunal then with your theories?

No one's accusing you Binky. But we all know that City went from being poorish to the richest club in the world, and sponsored themselves. Personally I didn't care, we had Fergie.
But in any event we have enough to compete, however your manager has been better than ours. But just maybe that can change., in fact I think it will.
