Diallo and Shoretire

Diallo had another good game for the reserves yesterday, contributing 3 assists as well as scoring a goal. Shoretire also got himself a hattrick as we beat Blackburn 6-4.

On the subject of Shoretire, I read an article earlier in the week that he will commit his future to United, having spoken to Rashford about his future, and sign a pro contract at United. Apparently Barca, PSG, Juve and Bayern were all interested in the lad.

We likely wont see anything of Shoretire in the first team for a year or so, but I think that Diallo will get his shot in the next few weeks. Perhaps in the Ropey.

I think Diallo has said that he wants to be known as Amad for personal reasons. If he keeps this up and breaks through into the first team, I'll call him whatever he likes

Shoretire's only just starting to find his feet at reserve level which is no surprise as he's playing well above his age group which he's pretty much always done, he only turned 17 a few days ago and he's been playing a few games out wide and up front which doesn't really suit his skillset. I'd be surprised if we were to see him play for the first team if he even does before Hannibal who should really be getting some minutes this season.

Amad's been excellent in the two games he's played. It's no surprise he's looked a class above at reserve level. His intelligence shows and his mind works quicker than others on and off the ball. Technically he's very good, he's well balanced, agile and he doesn't just rely on blistering acceleration and pace to beat a man which a few of our attackers at first team level do. Another thing which sets him apart from our wide attackers at first team level is he's more of a creator than a scorer which is what we need from a wide player at that level. I can't imagine it'll be too long before Ole gives him his first chance.

It would be a real shame in a way if he's moved up permanently any time soon because he's made us even better to watch than we already were at that level. He's combined really well with Shoretire and in particular Hannibal.

He’s Amad at his father. 🤌

Which is why he changed his name from Traore.

It sounds like Garner did very well again for Forest today.

We've got very good midfielders and forwards coming through. I'm not sold on many of the defenders. We seem to concede an awful lot of goals. Usually doesn't matter as we score more than opposition but that won't bode well in men's football.

Would be great to have a top CB coming through.

We have one. He’s on loan at Derby. Our second best prospect at CB is on loan at Salford City.

In fact, our most promising young GK, CM and three defenders are (or have been) out on loan this season.

People don’t need to worry about the U23s leaking goals: the talent is away being developed in senior football. Which is nice for a change.

Pretty much every team at academy level ends up conceding more goals than they play games.
