Scotland Head of State

If as seems ever likely Independence is inevitable who do we think Scotlands Head of State would be.

Would we introduce a functional head of state like those crazy americans and their wacky presidents

Conventional wisdom would say we follow the lead of other commonwealth countries and stick with the royal family

However we have a clean slate why not have another purely symbolic person in the role and we can vote a new one in when they are gone in some scotlands got a figurehead reality show

I reckon the front runner is the sexiest Krankie look a like wee Nic

Also maybe Billy Connolly or perhaps even Andy Murray.

Who would get your vote?

Before I got to the end of your article I was going to suggest Billy Connolly. The mental picture of him addressing the European Parliament is a wonderful mind blast. Dyed hair, tartan trews and wellies. For his inaugural speech he could do one of his most outrageous routines. Imagine the look of confusion on their faces. Surely he would be better than little Krankie.

Cracked me up the other day reading that the UK are wanting to build a new coal station despite kidding on they want to move toward green energy sources 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And we also don’t want to be reliant on other countries for critical resources. Cant have it all ways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Factor in the carbon footprint of importing and it reduces the impact.

It is a tough call, jobs for the working man while not helping the sustainability targets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the thing - we ought to have steel making capability, we need coking coal, do it here providing jobs and as clean as possible or put on the blinkers and ship it in from China mined by ethnic minority prisoners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We do but its Indian owned and makes massive losses
Most of what arrives in the UK comes from Europe and most of the base materials going in to europe come from Australia or Brazil
EU tariffs killed the importation from China so now they keep it to themselves and watch on as we run short and prices skyrocket
A few individuals in France Belgium a d Germany are getting very rich out of it mind you

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We aint in the EU any more, mate.

It would be fantastic, obviously sadly as he admits himself he is at the end but Billy's Christmas speech would be something.

Certain tariffs/quota arrangements remain as part of the deal
And they have adjusted there needs to fit the supply
Automotive is up 30% so they can eat near as much as they make anyway

NI lad Tommy Wright took over at Killie this week, so we can expect 3 pts from the Ulsterman, come Saturday.
