How are away goals going to work? Technically both legs are away because they are being played at neutral venues

As normal we’re ‘at home’ in the second leg so if the 1st is 1-1 and the second is 2-2 AET Benfica go through on away goals which imo is ridiculous given both ties are at a neutral venue

Away goals work the same they always do. If it is your home leg then any goal conceded is counted as an away goal, and for your away leg an goal you score counts as an away goal. Away goals scored prove the decider if the game ends level

Seems stupid having away goals at a neutral venue. Just go to extra time if aggregate score is level after second leg.
We’ll win anyway, because we’re destined to get knocked out by Emery’s Villarreal

Cant understand why all this seasons European games are not just one leg at a neutral ground. TV money obviously more important than covid safety

Yes will definitely be money motivated. Tv companies, advertising etc will have already paid for their 2 legs

Every goal will count as an away goal for both teams so a tie that would usually be 3-3 on aggregate will actually be 6-6 as away goals count as double
