Wycombe Wanderers 1 - 2 Derby County

Adams Park Stadium
Hillbottom Road
High Wycombe
Bucks

Tuesday 16th Feb
1945

Ha! Hope springs again after the gritty victory v Middlesbrough. Whether it will be sustained at this proverbial banana skin (has anyone EVER slipped on a banana skin?) down in deepest Buckinghamshire, we will know at 9.35pm on Tuesday.

Wycombe, everyone assumes are down and out - which means a free hit - for them. Confidence wise, they are buzzing after that impressive win at Huddersfield. After a week where we lost our proud premier league record of 11 points in a season, I can't even juxtaposition the two events, so won't.

Shinnie continues to impress, CKR despite that cracking goal, seemed to be a little jaded whilst Gregory, could, just could be the catalyst to improvement and consistency. Lee Buchannan is immense - what a gem. Byrne, quietly, very impressive.

Thank you, Vidal. Spot on

Yeah, basically right. Now isn't the time or place for a more critical analysis.

Can't argue with five wins from the last six games.

Was always going to be difficult to combat Wycombes style, particularly considering the spirit and energy that they are playing with currently. A point would have been a reasonable result, so all was an absolute steal to get all 3 with that performance.
Can we adapt our play to counter Watford now ? Their style might suit our game more. Not sure about the outcome though

It will a 1-2 Option B Ang. Obviously.

I just had a quick look on the DET website. I cant believe how some on there are slagging off the quality of football being played. As you say 5 wins out of 6 isn't a bad return. People have short memories. When Cocu was in charge we were playing some 'nice' football - which was totally ineffective. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and dig in and grind out a result....

There were 2 steals last night. Our result and my 12 points

Not sure the DET website is the best place to visit to find informed opinion, Terry

I'd argue that we played "nice football" under Cocu Terry. Most of it was like watching paint dry.
