Against his former club, the 17 year-old racked up a header, one with his left foot (following up from a penalty save), a weird free tap-in (after City scored a rather ungentlemanly goal), and a lovely right foot drive: four very different goals which sum up both his talents and his enthusiasm nicely.
That’s now 12 goals in 11 games on the season for the United fan and former City Academy player. It looked to me like he quite enjoyed kissing the badge after that first goal
United remain at the top of the U18 PL North, six points clear of second-placed Liverpool, having won 10 of their last 11 league games.
In other Academy news, Ole has confirmed that Amad and Shoretire will be training with the senior squad for the rest of the season. Hannibal should also join the senior bubble once he’s recovered from what sounds like it’s still an undiagnosed upper body injury which he suffered in the U23s 3-0 victory against Arsenal on Friday.
Shoretire and Hannibal will still be made available for U23 fixtures for the rest of the season, but they’ll be unable to train or travel with the squad having joined the senior bubble.
