Better attacking options

Many have been questioning how to improve the attack with a lack of goals being an issue really since the turn of the year.

One player who may be a good option and help bring depth to the attack is Luis Muriel of Atalanta. In just 7 starts (and 13 sub appearances) this season, he has knocked up 13 goals and 3 assists to his name in 688 minutes. That is a goal involvement every 43 minutes.

He is 29, which may be an issue as to his longevity in the side, but maybe as a good option to have in the squad and offering a different dimension to Firmino's game, could he offer some quality strength in depth for a season or two who is capable of getting goals and impacting games if Firmino's goal record continues to dwindle? Or do you think there are better options out there?

I watch loads of La Liga and Muriel was at Sevilla for ages. I would love for LFC to sign him, the guy is useless and has the worst technique i've ever seen when trying to strike a ball. His shot power is non-existant.

The issues are more than player numbers imo.

Look where the team has gaps in the formation.

the last 2 games;

Leicester - 70 mins of decent stuff, leicester did very very little as we didn't let them do it, just a ball over the top. Great stuff. 20mins of disater after midfield subs put two wingers into CM.

Leipzig - decent pressing. We score 2, were a bit shaky TBH. Press is ok and they make errors but then we put on ox and we fall apart again for 15 mins.

In general my view is that

a) the back line sit deeper so its impossible for 3 forwards to close down all gaps. The full backs can't press up on wide areas and the midfield isn't joingin fast enough due to distance between lines.

b) Midfield is torn asunder. we need the confidence that 2 guys are STRONG in their positioning and 1 gos and joins press. We were doing this ok with jones henderson wijnaldum. Jones would go press first half and then they'd switch to wijnaldum second half.

IMO get jota fit, then you've 4 players. thats better than last year. origi, shaqiri aint up to it so we do need an option sure but thats a separate issue.

get a midfield base back ASAP this season i would stil lsay Fabinho and Henderson

finally the defenders need to sit higher up and play offside or at least back themselves. Get the gaps ebtween lines smaller.

Very good summary that , I know klopp likes ox but he’s simply not doing enough . Keita if we can ever get him fit may help.

Terrible idea. We need someone who is will replace Firmino who is not good enough anymore and not another Origi.

I think last two games or poss 3 can not remember the team got even worse with ox coming on.

Think he is one to move on.

It is harsh but imo ive not seen one game where ox has impressed me in last 2 seasons. Even when he scored in europe.

Every game he goes too far forward and isnt involved.

Put two like ox and shaq in and its seriously weakened.

Even milner goes to wide and too far forward so imo we need two proper cms plus 1.

Thiago, keita, jones.

Imo we have loads of options and should be putting salah down the middle and put on shaq wide right rather than what we are doing.

I agree with Culer, have seen a fair bit of him in Spain,he seems very lightweight and average.
