Santi Cazorla

I took a trip down memory lane.

We have never replaced this guy and no wonder. Probably the most naturally talented player I personally have seen play at Arsenal. Add the grit and desire and no surprise he was a fan favourite!

Have you read the awful story of the injury that finished his Arsenal career?

Major feck ups from the medical team, nearly lost a foot or something mental
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, I heard that they nearly amputated the wrong one as well.

He's still a brilliant player where he plays for Qatari club Al Sadd .Yesterday, he scored a stunning injury time winner.

His club, managed by Xavi, are way ahead of the rest in the league. I think only dropping points once when they draw. Won all other games with.

Arsenal lost their sparks and creativity once Cazorla got injured and then sold. Never replaced

After Sanchez, probably the 2nd best signing of the emirates era
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After Sanchez? No mate well before Sanchez. Players who cause the controversy and drama he did, disrespecting the other players, manager and club itself. Don't make it into the "Best signings ever" category. Regardless of their skill level, they go in the "Worst signings ever" category. Because the trouble drama and overall disruption they bring to a club is that damaging, it far outweighs anything positive they do on the pitch. It is mad the way you seem to rate players with absolutely no regard to anything other than how many tekkers they show you in a game and never take someone being a complete sh !tbag into account.

Sanchez doesn't belong anywhere ahead of the class act that Santi was. Other than on the s we never should have bought list.

Sanchez had a phenominal impact on the team. He was arguably the best player in the league when at arsenal. Regardless of him going to united and all the other things, he is still the best emirates signing.

Don't get me wrong, Cazorla is right up there also

I always use the season of the injury as an example. When he played his last game we were 2nd to City only on goal difference and by the end of the season we were 5th.

Sanchez was a good player, but for overall influence on our games and results its Santi every day for me. With him we were contenders, without him we werent even CL qualifiers.

Santi controlled games for us. He was effective out wide, number 10 or in CM role. One of my favourite players.

However, you can't go against how influential Sanchez was. He was a game changer and turned up in big games.

We have nothing like that in the current squad

It’s a tough one between Santi and Alexis but they are definitely our 2 best Emirates signings for sure

I probably would chose Santi just because he was with us longer and was part of the team that won our first FA Cup in 9 years or whatever it was

Now Santi is what you'd describe as a truly world class player, and the type of player we've been used to having over the years (Sanchez, Frabegas). Now we're crying out for that kind of quality, not a single world class player in our ranks.

Partey has the potential to be world class but we obviously have not seen enough yet

Castor you're missing the point. You are rating him as the clubs best signing in ...period. To be that he'd have to have had an overall good effect, he DIDN'T. Yeah he got us some results for 18 months but he blew apart the club and is almost single-handedly responsible for Wenger leaving like he did, instead of gracefully like SAF. The club has suffered massively for the loss of that tasteful Wenger exit.

It's both strange and a cautionary tale about picking your superstars carefully. Ozil and Sanchez, two of the most naturally gifted players the club ever owned. Yet by far it's two most DESTRUCTIVE influences. That fact alone precludes either from even making the list of "Best signings." Simply because the first qualifier to make that particular has to be...

"Had an overall long term, POSITIVE effect."

Hence for the post Invincibles era, topping the list is Santi Cazorla. When we lost him things fell apart only because his football was missed on the pitch. Not because he was some who divided the dressing room, cried to the media and generally just made himself a pain in the ass feckin up the team in the process. Not every player who's good on the pitch is good for the club that buys them. Both Sanchez and Ozil were bad for Arsenal FC. Can't be "Bad for the club" and on the list of "Best signings" that's just silly bordering ridiculous.
