Who would be your nomination for the player of the year so far?
Four main contenders for me:
McGregor
Tav
Goldson
Davis
McGregor has been incredible all the way through. Such an asset to the team and plays as much of a captain as anyone
Tav was a stick on up till January then his goals dried up but his goals and assists and general play, plus in his role as captain he has had an outstanding season
Goldson has always gone about his business in a quiet manner but has also shown leadership qualities and has marshalled the defence really well.
Both he and Tav have also cut out the defensive mistakes that came in a few times over the past few seasons. The fact that we’ve only lost one game says it all for the defence
Steven Davis is another player who has led by example all the way through. His reading of the game is tremendous and he has been integral to the team both in breaking up opposition attacks and setting up our own moves
I think those are the four main candidates

Hagi has played 1000mins less than Tavernier and has one less assist and has scored 1 more goal from open play.
I can't believe that some fans aren't having him. The guy is class and only gonna get better.

I think Castle Greyskull got it right because the defence doesn’t get changed apart from Helander and Balogun but midfield is rotated more so guys like Hagi don’t get the same chance to shine
But I agree Hagi has real star quality so hopefully he’ll stay with us

Maybe the name? Maybe it sets unrealistic expectations that he is going to be a superstar?
I like Hagi and he brings something to the team that others dont.
He is a bit like Kent for me in that if he ups his consistency by 20-30% his value would rocket.

He’s only a young laddie like Aribo and there’s star quality in both of them
You could see Hagi’s quality straight away and in particular the Braga home game where he grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and won us the game, and you could see the drive he has to succeed. I think he’s a very focused player and definitely has the potential to be a huge player. I don’t see him staying with us long term though so hopefully we’ll eventually get a good fee for him

I had big doubts about Wright but he looks to be fitting in very well and looks a better player than I thought he was

He still has to convince me he has got end product tbh.
But his pace, mobility, touch, sharpness and inventiveness all look good. His pass through to Morelos that eventually resulted in his goal at the weekend was a terrific bit of play.
