So...

Still doesn't answer my question about who's paying the players currently but it's a start...

For those that master the ways of the Willy there is no need for a benefactor.

My man itk says finances are catastrophic!
This was pre xmas. But if they were that bad would Rooney have took us on?

When a fan owns a club, normal financial discipline flies out the window. At least we wont have some feudal autocrat owning the club which means I can still support the Rams.

Why Mel ever thought the guy who had failed to buy Liverpool and Newcastle was a good prospect is beyond me. To these people, buying a football club is just a means of massaging their egos and getting fame they could never obtain any other way. Did anybody know who Abramovich was until he bought Chelsea?

Thanks for the article 2W. I think the same can be said for all clubs really - certainly the efl clubs. No income because of no fans. Who does pay for it all ??? They all must be deep in the mire.
The Sheik buying the club has been a dead duck since Christmas and I'm sure Mel knows this. I was castigated on the Telegraph website in December for suggesting it was never going to happen. It's how certain people conduct their business....agree a deal - and then drag it out in the hope the seller will get fed up and drop the price....

Terry: seen a few times you stated "No income because of no fans". The club will still get sponsorship and TV money, Gate receipts are probably like 20% of total income.

Hmmmm....not convinced Shentini. A quick calculation : Average crowd = 25,000 x average ticket price (£25) x 23 games per season = gate receipts of around £14,000,000. Still a massive chunk of income I'd say. Clearly I dont know what percentage of total income this is, but I feel its still "a lot"....

Wellies, the answer is obvious if you think about it.

What’s also obvious is that the club won’t be sold before the end of the season if at all.

Reading between the lines you could be in as big a mess as we were under Fawaz. Genuinely hope it gets sorted.

agreed.
Noting you have gone from "No income because of no fans" to "a lot"
doubt ST holders are paying £25 per match, 23*25=£575 av

Red: All clubs be in same boats due to daft wages, £10,000s a week. 10k is £0.5M
Especially for players that dont play, now ibe n lawrence, previously anya etc....

Think Forest's wage bill must be bordering FFP too Red but yes we're in deep financial trouble behind the scenes. N even with new owners this mess will take time.

How much did the heroin trafficker pay Fawaz for Forest, n how much in debt were you?

Only thing hoping Rooney's high profile mini resurgence might interest a few attention grabbing richers.

I think buyers are waiting for Mel to go under though. Avoiding the drop by 10 points could be critical. Feel like Mel is a sitting duck though for any prospective new owner.

Clubs aren't all in the same boat. The parachute payments, unfair at the best of times, mean that incomes to a few clubs in the Championship are many times that of the majority of clubs.
