Very sad to hear heโs been admitted into a hospice with late stage brain cancer.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
My boyhood hero - what a right peg he had!

Best Wishes to one of the heroes of my misspent youth

He was my hero as a kid growing up. Really sad, It looks like another of that fabulous era is slowly leaving us. Such a shame that none of them have been able to get to see us back in the premier league in the flesh. It’s going to be emotional when we all get back in, some songs to be sung

Awful news. My thoughts are with Peter and his family. The famous Revie team is disappearing bit by bit. It seems the last 12 months, especially, have been particularly harsh.

A great servant to Leeds with 526 app and 168 goals, one a 107 mph penalty!.
Very sorry to hear the news with yet again one of our all time greats having a rough time in health.. Very best wishes to him and his family at this time.

Was in the Gelderd vs Scotland!..
They should have taken the hint and not gone to the World Cup!..
My favorite as a teenager, and I've always backed him even when people around here were ripping him apart!..
I can only send him best wishes, its a hard time for him and his family but I hope they stay strong and stand by him the best they can!..
Funny seeing that link and thinking how often people here say they hate red, said a few times we've played in it, strange world isn't it?..

I am very sad for the families of Mick Bates and Peter Lormer, and for the family of Leeds United. Big Jack, Bite-yer-legs, and Trevor Cherry left us in 2020, Peter and Mick may well be soon to join them, big Gordon McQueen not doing well either. Not long before this current crew will restore us to the place these great men brought us to. Go n-eiri an bothar leat, boys, may the road rise to meet you.

I was always Peter Lorimer when playing footy as a kid.
Saw him briefly in hospitality a few years ago, but didn't want to interrupt him at the bar, so left him to his conversation.
Sad to hear about his illness - the same took my little sister at the age of 36 some years ago, so resonates a lot.
This last 14 months has already devastated my list of lifelong heroes. Now another seems likely lost.

Lorimer broke his leg twice in such a short time, when he was just a young player at Leeds, cant remember whether it was his left or right? I feared his career might never get off the ground but thankfully the broken legs never impaired his shooting power!
He also enjoyed a bet at northern racecourses, saw him quite a few times at places like Ripon and York, stood at the bar tearing up his losing ticket, just like me!
