Interesting Read

Not sure if this has been posted before but it is interesting about our transfer activity. It certainly surprised me!

One thing that bugs me about Nigel Doughty's reign is how he's portrayed as the ONLY reason we still exist, and without his money we could not do anything.

To be honest, I don't know if that's true or not, but I know one thing 100%, he is running our club terribly and always has!

And almotsy certainly always will!

But those figures, firstly, don't include the last few seasons and, secondly, must be taken into context of the club being nearly £70m in debt, all owed to ND.

I think these figures proves the club has been managed poorly also proves his commitment to the club that has been continued throughout a recession (that has obviously harmed his other business interests).

You are right css they also don't include the money invested in our acedemy. However, something is very wrong at Forest to be this much in debt (to ND). I would also point out our lack of marketing, which you sheep are good at. It also winds me up that you can't but a Forest shirt in the City Centre of Nottingham, in fact they can only be bought in the club shop. Derby's can be bought from East Mids Airport ffs

Magic, I'm a Forest fan, not a sheep, but I agree - any business/football club being run at a £6m per year loss, with a total debt of nearly £70m would demonstrate an appallingly run organisation.

In my opinion, then, if ND stays due to the lack outside interest from any investors, the Club should get it's house in order prior to heavily spending on players in an attempt to get promotion.

It is a matter of opinion, of course, but I doubt that neither the transfer panel, nor any of the last few managers would have spent the money wisely enough to ensure promotion. Would a Prattley or Whittingham, have guaranteed promotion? Of course not, and I don't know ND's finances well enough to make a judgement that he should have spent more than he did.
