Three years are not enough. Ole needs more time to find a way to score more than one goal against the top six and to find a way to make early and effective substitutions. He needs time to figure out that Bailly is his best defender and that DVB and Matta are excellent players who need to play from time to time, and that they are much more talented than McT and Fred. He needs time to realize that playing Maguire and Bruno all the time, even in easy games is a bad idea, beacause they will be exhausted at the end of the season when we need them. Above all, he needs time to realize that saying the right thing to please the British media and the fanbase may serve his interest but not the interest of the club. Ole needs time.

Rooney-the-GOAT doesn't seem to get that there's more to identifying with your club than watching them lift trophies on Sky Sports.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly this seems to be the majority of the fan base to be honest. I blame what I think of as the modern, Internet fan. People who don't get into football for reasons other than its a popular sport, they watch clips and highlights more than full matches and most of their involvement in the game is heavily based around 'Internet banter'.
There's a seemingly large disconnect between a good chunk of our fans and the actual club itself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you think that the club's Facebook page has 73.2 million fans, this isn't all that surprising. If you identify with a club purely based on their success, you're going to feel betrayed when the trophies dry up.
That's probably why they constantly bleat about the manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That worldwide support is the reason why we’re the richest club in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally being the richest club in the world has nothing to do with the pleasure I've had watching them over the years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It does a bit, as we wouldn't have been able to buy the same calibre of players.

I don't think we were the richest club in the world until the PL came along and the Internet.
George Best, Bobby Charlton, Tony Dunne, Shay Brennan, Bill Foulkes, Nobby Stiles didn't cost anything.
But Dennis Law was British record as Was Tommy Taylor before and Bryan Robson after. So loads of youth coming through and a big buy when necessary. We could try it now, the match going fans would think it wonderful.

That is a defeatist attitude. The Glazers would be happy to know that.

The class of 92 also cost nothing. But in recent times we haven't produced the same level of talent and have mostly relied on signings.

A few years ago, we were the kings of Europe, and now some of our fans are happy with 4th place and semifinals. I’m not saying we have a divine right win every year, my point is that a club like ours shouldn’t accept mediocrity as a new reality.
