On Saturday Wolves travel to Villa Park to take on Midlands rivals Aston Villa.
In the reverse fixture at Molineux, Villa won the game and the bragging rights courtesy of a 90th minute penalty scored by Anwar El Ghazi.
The game was refereed by Mike Dean who in typical fashion was throwing out cards like confetti. In addition to awarding the penalty, he also issued 11 yellow cards and 2 reds, one for Douglas Luiz in the 85th minute and one for Joao Moutinho in the 90th.
Another notable feature of the game was that it was just the second match that Wolves played without injured striker Raul Jimenez with 18 year-old newcomer, Fábio Silva being thrown in at the deep end to cover. At the time Nuno was also experimenting with different formations and this game was played with a back 4 leaving key players Ruben Neves and Willy Boly on the substitute’s bench.
On Tuesday Wolves travelled to Manchester where they were the latest team to be mullered by league leaders City.
On Wednesday Villa were also on the road losing 1-0 to10 man Sheffield United
On Tuesday Wolves’ key defender Willy Boly was an unused sub, on the bench after several weeks out with a hamstring problem. It’s odds on that he will start in this game, releasing Leander Dendoncker to get back to his favoured midfield role. Wing back Marcal, forward Daniel Podence and striker Raul Jimenez remain unavailable.
Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish has missed the last couple of games due to a leg injury and will be a doubt for this game.
Wolves are currently 12th in the table with 34 points, Villa are 9th with 39 points

i'm told that no other european country has the problem with var that we do,
i haven't watched german football recently but when it was introduced there it seemed to me that all judgments were made by the ref looking at a pitchside monitor - he had the say, not the equivalent of stockley park

as in life generally there's far too much reliance on computers - i'm selling my jag xf. i cant say what the mileage is because it's not displayed on the dash speedo where they have been for decades , its obviously lost in some computer sub menu somewhere.

This time last year I was at Hertha Berlin (v Werder Bremen). Was just looking at some photos I took. Have missed travelling. ☹️
