Now you see

We were not being negative for the sake of it. Just ask spurs fans, it's easy to overlook things when you're getting results but when those dry up you have to look at the performances.

At first the excuse was "were top of the table" then it was "look at the results" now it's "were second in the table".

The sad truth is we had a real opportunity to complement our squad with a top young manager who was available and we blew it. Now we are stuck with this manager and this football because ed will want to save face.

Unless we blow another 150 mil this summer we will go backwards. We needed a coach but what we have is a z-list checkbook manager and that's the cold hard truth.

Ole definitely needs to up his game a bit.

Why he doesn't make any changes when the entire team has been absolute hogwash for 80 minutes is a question only he can answer.

Why we have spent about 250 million since he's arrived and still aren't hugely better than last year is a concern.
I think it's 250 mill anyway.
Harry 80

Dialo, vdb, telles about 100 mill and then we have cavani, not sure what he cost.

Why spend 40 million on vdb and never play him....

It's not looking good right now. Could easily be out the top 4 in the next few games and considering the position we were in, that is fecking shocking.
It's as bad as an arsenal collapse, possibly worse because we've spent stupid money on absolute fecking rubbish players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't forget the 50 mill for Bruno. Ole has spent about 300 mill if you look at transfer market.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ole has, or the board has. Possibly VDB wasn't Ole's choice. Who knows
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, much as I'm not exactly a huge advocate of Ole's managerial abilities, the truth is we don't know how much control he has over transfers. For one thing, I highly doubt the desperate late splurge at the end of the window was what he wanted business to be done and also have reservations about how high up on his list of targets the players were, if in fact they were his targets at all.

Oh ok, Ole is unsackable and can never be criticized for performances because we don't know how much influence he has on transfers, He may just be a complete yes man, and not have any influence whatsoever.

Good point.

Ole in!

Don't be daft.

Ole isn't unsackable... and if he fails to get at least in the top 4 this season I would expect him to be sacked. I have always said that he this year he has to do better than last season's 3rd and keep in touch with the top 2, to keep his job. If he fails on this he should go in the summer. I stand by that.

Ole isn't beyond criticism either and last night's performance was woeful and he should take the responsibility for his players, who in the end really let him, the club and themselves down badly last night, and on previous occassions recently....because he is the manager.

But to try and blame Ole for recent player recruitment knowing how the club is structured and operates with Ed Woodward in charge is a pretty cheap shot.

And Donny HAS been played and really hasn't been that good. Which is why Ole probably trusts other players in his squad, more.

It's not the cold hard truth OP, it's your opinion. You have a chance to be right or wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is the absolute truth like 1+1=2. Perhaps you believe ole even has the potential to defy mathematic law and science and nature if he put his mind to it.

What winning run? I think the most wins we have strung together this season is about 4?

......

He has played him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know exactly what I mean but yes if you want to be pedantic... He has played him, sporadically.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing pedantic about it.

The issue isn’t not playing him the issue is not playing him enough.
