Arteta divides opinion

We are so bad this season and the jury is still out if it is the players or manager’s fault. I don’t understand what style we’re playing and if we want to play passing from the back, we should have kept Martinez who is decent with his feet.

The more I see Xhaka the more am convinced we should cash on him he is just a ticking calamity so must get rid.

Odegaard and Ceballos MUST be returned we need better players like Wolves Neto or Aouar. Bellerin, Chambers and El neny are crap we need upgrade. Get a new GK to challenge Leno and backup LB.

Love my Arsenal

It’s painful watching this current team, so much talent, but such a lackadaisical attitude.

Where’s the urgency?
Where’s the tempo?
Why can’t they raise their game after a weeks rest?

If he can’t see that next season Arteta will only invite pressure so is Edu.

Arteta needs to be given a new long term contract, it’ll help bring stability and reassurance to the players. Really do think he’ll be able to keep you in the league this season.

Mid-table club executives.

Mid-table manager.

Mid-table back room staff.

Mid-table squad.

Win a few games and maybe we could finish 8th.

Just like last season.

The problem we have is that other clubs all above us are going to significantly strengthen again so unless this squad gets adequate investment we are staying mid table. It’s like we Have taken over from Westham. This board back Mikel yet they barely back him financially. Get used to this mediocrity if funds aren’t made available.

Bit of a weird one with Arteta. The mistakes like what Xhaka made today seem endemic in this team, stretches back to under Wenger, but even with mostly different players we still seem to shoot ourselves in the foot every 3 games. There’s lots of individual errors in attack and defence, things you can’t really blame a manager for. Without these happening constantly we’d look in somewhat better shape under Arteta

However my main disappointment with Arteta is he can’t seem to get any consistency in attack. We can’t create enough and put teams under enough pressure whereby our mistakes are less costly. I wonder if Arteta can’t really find a way to get poorer quality players working well. At city he’d have seen pep set up the team well, then the talent on the pitch does the rest. Whereas here that doesn’t really work. I Wonder if he needed experience of how to work systems to get the best out of lesser quality players, rather than just experience of working under the dream circumstances city have.

We don’t have awful attacking players, and Arteta should be getting more from them, but they aren’t near city level talent. A different coach with that experience may have got us firing better by now. Maybe Arteta will figure it out soon and we’ll click, but seems something we’ll have to be patient with. Unless he totally tanks us I’d stick with him and back him at least until a much more fitting coach became available, because we can’t afford to knee jerk, uproot everything and start a new rebuild under a coach that might be the wrong choice

Don't you have a good enough back up keeper in Ryan though?

Can't blame Martinez for leaving. He's too good to be a bench warmer.

Yeah it's just an unfortunate situation. I personally would have got rid of Leno and kept Emi but I don't think there's a huge amount in them

Huh? How exactly do you bring stability and reassurance to the players by giving a long-term contract to the rude idiot manger who keeps making their life difficult with his idiot choices?

They're probably mad he didn't get sacked already so you can be sure they don't want him to stay long-term.

Arteta reminds me a lot of Pep, just without the talent.
