Well this is getting ridiculous!
One flaw ive always thought Klopp has, is stubborness re tactics. When we have struggled to break down teams that sit back, we always struggled for new tactics to surprise and break their lines. This flaw is REALLY showing up now!!!
We know injuries have caused us problems and we cant play in the normal way as we dont have the normal 1st team or the depth of quality. Sooooo, what would you do?
i know i would change tactics to suit the players i have.
We have no CB with real 1st team experience or any pace. In this case, id no longer play the high line and id use more defensive CM to protect the inexperienced cb partnership. Something along the 4231 formation weve used before may be useable. Having Fabinho and Wij in the double pivot to protect and cover Fb roaming fwd. Surely this would allow our attacking FBs to get fwd in the normal way.
As we are sat further back, surely a more counter attack style would make sense. An attacking mf with a good engine to get up and down. Maybe Jones or Jota. Thiago when theres a low block.
Use Salah up top to aid the quick counter. Also to deter adventurous opposing cbs
A regular cb psrtnership would obviously help but actual defenders and not mf posing. Having Fab in DM would allow Wij and keita or thiago or jones to do whats more natural
As for the attacking trio and the issues 2 of them are having, thats where more depth in previous transfer windows wouldve been useful. hopefully the return of jota will help. so random that both firmino and mane have gone so badly off the boil at the same time. in prev seasons, when one has been poor, the other 2 have compensated.
I feel the counterattack style and deeper def line along with the pace of our attack will give us more solidity and protection and utilise what strengths we have atm
this is such a mind f*** of a situation that we didnt expect. we need to take action and positive action at that. thats the main disappointment im feeling with klopp and the boys. The lack of tactical flexibility and fight

So before this season you thought Klopp had glaring weaknesses with his tactics.
Just to clarify you averaged close to 100 points a season in the league for two years, and won a champions league.
You obviously struggled in a a lot of games.

The reality is that we can do a great many things but first and foremost raising our game is what we need to do.
Play much quicker and first time.
About 50-55 mins there was a time to really up it yesterday but they had no extra year to give

Without Henderson in the middle, the team just doesn't work. As shown when Matip was finally out and Henderson had to join Fabinho at CB.
We were ok without Gomez and VVD until that point. We were top in fact. Just, and not playing great, but top all the same.
Whilst any team losing their three CB's is going to struggle badly. Especially as the kids just aren't good enough. William's is far too slow to make it and Phillip's is a Championship player at best.
We should have signed two CB's at the beginning of Jan, not the end. They would be up and running to a point by now. Remember it took Robertson half a season to integrate properly to the way we play.
However, Klopps biggest problem will be how and who to replace Henderson with when the time comes.
I can't be bothered to look, but I bet we lose/draw most of our games when Henderson is out.

No. What I said was, that when his primary tactics aren't working he was stubborn and hadn't shown ideas to change it up and surprise teams. This is how teams can come to anfield and know how to play to get a result. If your tactics can be flexible and unpredictable, you are harder to beat.
I'm not saying that's the only issue here, of course. Yes the injury yes the lack of January transfer but if he had shown tactical flexibility previously, we may be less predictable right now also have more variety in our squad depth

Agree with the above, the Hendo injury has really been the straw that broke the camels back. You could argue that’s the spine of the team facked.
Alli is all over the place, VVD out for the season Hendo more or less out for the season and Firmino now an empty shirt.

With a deeper def line, we will be less susceptible to the long ball. Phillips is decent in the air, kabak had some pace. Let them work together to begin am understanding. Rotate Robbo with the Greek chap. He needs a rest. Milner csn rotate with trent. Using salah up top keeps their def back, giving mf more space. May work
