RIP Marvin Hagler

Marvellous Marvin has passed away aged 66.

I always loved watching him fight, a real street brawler who grew up fighting for survival.

I remember his battle with the great Sugar Ray Leonard in the eighties .Let us say a distinct contrast in styles😀

Thanks for the memories👍

Between him and Murray Walker passing yesterday, we lost two greats/characters from sport.

Don’t care what anyone says, he beat Sugar Ray.
Hearns was my favourite out of the Fantastic 4, but Hagler man, what a fighter.
Sad day.
RIP to the Marvellous One

My memory is shot, but did Sugar Ray try his behind his own back reverse punch in that contest?

Hagler was cheated - it was a disgusting decision.

Didnt Hagler beat the British and World middleweight champion in Wembley. Alan minter I think his name was. A well liked boxer . Hagler was relatively unknown this side of the pond at the time and beat him up badly right from the start. It didnt last too long I dont think.
Hagler was as tough as they come with that shaven head.
The sugar ray fights were epic

RIP

Totally agree - that defeat to Sugar-Ray was a total con

Best fight ever was his 3 round WAR with Tommy Hearns

Media darling Leonard. Never liked that guy. The words showboat and opportunist describe him.
Marvelous Marvin RIP

King of the division that is total boxing. Heavy enough to provide the power and fast enough to provide the entertainment.

Spot on, as wee men are wee and big boys can be fat, if that makes sense, mate.
