Safe Pun, once you go down that hole, there’s no turning back.
I was replying to United Stand, and what we thought of Ole’s comments.
they were trying to say, that isn’t the talk of a manager that wants to win things... but I didn’t read it like that. Ok he said Trophies are an ego thing, which didn’t come across well to the social media army, but I agreed with what Ole was saying about the League being the true sign of progression. Its the bread and butter, but you get the flip flops saying otherwise.
As if Ole is saying he’s not bothered, which of course is rubbish, of course he wants to win trophies, but they want to push the PE teacher narrative led by the likes of Simon Jordan.
There’s a contradiction in these peoples mindset, cos then why did we sack LVG and Jose, they had won us trophies? Didn’t get an answer... they just hate Ole. Simple.
Ole knows the standard, he’d know the pressure to win something, but UTD aren’t allowed time to rebuild like other clubs.
If that was the case we would’ve sacked SAF.
I just think some of these fans came on board the UTD Train when it was going at full speed. It’s all they know.
They weren’t there when SAF turned up and hammered in the first nail.
The cultural shift from SAF and Gil cannot be underestimated, and it’s the Glazers poor planning that has us here today, but laying the foundation is the right way to go about it, and Ole may not be the man to get us to the promised land, but I believe he is on the right track in relaying the foundation for future success.
