Martinez and Alaba would both be good midfield options

Martinez is 32 with a long history with of injuries. With Cavani we are now seeing the problem with siginings like this.

I think Cavani has been a good signing, so long as you aren’t relying on players i see no issue with plugging a hole with a better player than we currently have.

Would I get rid of Matic and have Martinez as an option? Yes.

Martinez is no better than Matic nowadays. And is injured as much as Bailly. Would be another waste of money.

I agree. If Cavani doesn’t play another game for us and leaves in the summer I’d still consider him to have been a success.

However I feel we are at a stage now where we need to be adding quality young players rather than stop gaps.

Matic isn’t amazing but at least he’s available almost every week.

This. He’s played 20+ league games in a season 5 times in almost a decade at Bayern. He’d be pointless in the PL.

I think the problem there is that you're making the assumption that he'll actually be fit for the games you wish to rotate him into the team for. As has increasingly been shown with Cavani, that is often not likely to be the case

Alaba has already agreed a move to Real Madrid and wouldn't go near the other two.

Thought it had fallen true. It certainly isn’t official yet.

Think the deals pretty much done, all sides agreed just not official. Upemecano is his replacement.

Christian Falk who is well connected with Bayern reported talks have broken down if I’m not mistaken.
