What a Granada draw

Always wary of Spanish sides as our record is not good but considering they are 8 points behind Real Sociedad we should be getting through.

United will face Ajax or Roma in the #UEL semi-finals if they overcome Granada in the quarter-finals

A nice semi final that too.

I like the fact we play at home first. Given there will be no fans, it's good if we need an away goal in extra time

Will the away leg be played in Spain?

If not it should be at a neutral ground in the Granada region, like Wigan or Bolton.

8 - Manchester United have only won two of their last eight away games against Spanish opposition (D3 L3), though one of those victories was a 4-0 win at Real Sociedad in the Last 32 in February. Rejuvenated.

I'm not sure. Granada played Molde in their stadium in the last round

That would be something else

Granada are a very different proposition to Real Sociedad. They aren’t a ball-playing side and like to sit deep and counter, which United might find a bit more uncomfortable. Just getting out of the group stage was a great success for them, especially as they have struggled all season with injuries and Covid. Everything since has been viewed as a huge bonus, so there’s no real pressure on them to succeed.

That said though, man for man they’re no match for United, who have much more quality all over the pitch, and I also imagine that Granada might be somewhat star struck at playing such a huge name in European football in their first ever appearance at this late a stage in Europe. All in all, anything but a relatively comfortable passage through to the semis for United would be a surprise.
