Stoke City 1 - 0 Derby County

After the miracle of Brentford (second half only), one can only marvel at the sheer infuriating inconsistency of a Derby County squad and can only speculate at how our opponents on Saturday v Stoke will pan out.

Trouble is we are missing our most talismanic players in Bielik. Don't worry Colin WILL be playing. We will also be without Gregory up front. Tom Lawrence up front anyone?

Stoke, allegedly, are not playing for anything and may choose to pass on this game. Fat chance. First we will line up to nullify them, let them dictate, then start playing in the second half.

Team news:-
Roos
Byrne Wisdom Mengi Clarke Buchanan
Knight Shinnie
Sibley CKR Roberts

Subs:- Marshall Forsyth Edmundson Beningime Bird Watson Lawrence Cresswell Jozwiak

Only those present know what happened between Rooney & Waggy and its easy to formulate an argument to suit the party that you support.
Smacks a little of the Clough/Tomasz Cywka spat to me

Saturday morning thinking the only interest we had between then and the end of the season was whether we could finish above Forest. Saturday evening after wins for Rotherham and Wednesday and our defeat we are in a relegation battle. Nigel Clough for all his deficiencies as a manager could always pull out a result when things were looking dire. Has Rooney that magic touch?

The calmness with which he pulled us out of the mire when he first took over seems to have deserted him. Surely he needs to go back to basics.

I thought he had ? We seem to be playing football of a very elementary level.
Rooney has generally been in favourable situations during his career. Makes you wonder how he reacts in adverse ones ?

I agree Vidal, he seems to be trying to be too clever at times. At first he kept things simple, now he is going all 2wellyish with his changes in personnel and formations.
In his after match talk he said now the players realise they are in a relegation battle. Makes me think that some players were getting too complacent in training and Waghorn has been made the example.

Should suit Watson then?

Get your coat, Scouse.

Plausible explanation for Waghorn is that after Rooney praised his work in training on Thursday he assumed he would be starting, and then when Rooney told him that a crippled CKR would get the nod instead he threw his toys out of the pram.

Which would be understandable if true. CKR should not have started because he is clearly injured. Waggy should have ... end of.

IF your suggestion is right, Rooney got it wrong.

Yes, it’s a big if. Hard to think of another likely scenario that fits with what we know though, with Rooney saying it was about Waghorn’s behaviour rather than this training.

Like what Vidal, you don't think it's Waghorn by name,Waghorn by nature. Which WAG might he have been wagging is horn to?
