The decision was taken early last year by the Tories to weaponise Nicola Sturgeon. The thinking being that as she was so popular in Scotland, in complete contrast to the vote loser Boris Johnson, that to undermine the SNP popularity they had to effectively undermine Nicola Sturgeon. That effectively is what all the recent hypocritical Tory baying for her blood for allegedly breaking the Ministerial Code has been about.

The key report from James Hamilton QC was presented today and that has cleared Nicola Sturgeon of any breach of the Ministerial Code.

The Tories of course had found her guilty even before she appeared before the committee and Douglas Ross the Tory Leader in Scotland has been demanding her resignation and indeed has called for a vote of no-confidence BEFORE either the committee or Hamilton's report was made public - a move that prompted one female reporter on BBC Scotland News described as 'premature ejaculation'.

There will political consequences for these vvank attacks and then today's findings by Hamilton QC. Interesting times.
