Ole

Why are we giving him a new contract now?

I’m not Ole out but why aren’t we waiting until the end of the season to see what happens?

It’s not like he’s going to leave us for someone else if we don’t get him signed up now.

it dont hold any anger over it, the only decision i've hated of the clubs was hiring Jose. that set us back a lot.

......

Jose should have been the one to replace SAF in my opinion. I said this on here when we appointed Moyes.

Real Madrid and Barcelona's 'rebuild' constitutes winning titles and getting to CL knockout stages.

Manchester United's 'rebuild' constitutes 0 trophies, competing for top 4 and UEL knockout stages.

The levels are staggering.

We are no where close.

Wow! People actually writing sense.

I don’t think the intention of the rebuild was to have us as you’ve said. 0 trophies and Europy.
LvG and Jose won trophies, but couldn’t keep us in C.L. Or challenge for the title.
Why wasn’t the FA cup good enough. Why wasn’t Europa good enough. No, they want Champions League. Regular.
Maybe now under Ole it looks the way you’re saying, but again, isn’t the plan.
Whether or not Ole signs a new contract, let’s say he does, he knows his neck will be on the line from the get go.
This scenario is different from when he first came in, but again, it’s the Owners that are holding him back.
So when we say he’s doing well under the circumstances, it isn’t that we the fans are settling for that and have lowered our standards. He is with his hands tied behind his back, is doing better than I expected of him.
But it still isn’t good enough for a club of UTDs standing... that’s not on Ole.

If the Glazers don’t want to leave they have to change their mindset and recognise what it is they have in their possession.

The reason we’ve been nowhere near the top clubs since SAF retired is our failures in the transfer market.

Whether it’s Moyes, LVG, Jose, Ole, Ed or the Glazers to blame here or it’s a collective we don’t know.

We’ve plenty just more often than not on the wrong players.

Barca and Real have made similar mistakes in recent years.

Wow, soon Ole would have had two full seasons, and unless he wins the Europa he won't have a trophy to his name. Shocking, and he inherited à wonderful squad raring to go

Exactly. Unless we blow top 4 from here the man deserves next season imo.

He kind of didn't - unless you are practicing your use of irony.

He did inherit SOME good players, but he also inherited squad with little shape and/or gaping holes and a lot of born losers.

A product, perhaps, of the decade long problem of the club not keeping a program of rolling new for old - not helped by the academy being all but busted (compared to many others) - but really exemplified by bringing in those non- suitable for EPL success and avoiding those that would be suitable.

I'm not for condemning OGS for getting more out of a set-up, that has such a very poor front line, than it should have. For this squad, second place in this league is better than the third place it merited - Chelsea are the underachieving team the season.

And also, I really don't see that the club gave any of moyes, LvG, or jose the right length of time to sort out consistently incomplete squads. No point in doing the same with OGS.

Simply hiring & sacking and hiring & sacking is poor direction.

There is something really wrong with the club hierarchy, maybe the recent changes with fletcher and co will help.

Ole was the equivalent of a league 1 manager, and has been given 300 million in spending and little progress. And now there are talks of a 9 mill a year contract when he woukdnt get 900k a year anywhere else.

And that is why I think there will be at least a 20 year gap between us winning leagues. The damage Ole does over the next 3 years will take another huge rebuild.
