Happy to see this lad enjoying his football again.
Scored again for Belgium the other day , his 59th international goal ( an all-time record for Belgium ).
And he's been pretty prolific too for Inter , scoring 42 goals in 60 matches or so which is absolutely outstanding.
I remember him being a top striker during his time at Everton as well but for some reason things just didn't work out with us at United. Some of our "fans" certainly didn't help matters with that stupid controversial chant about him , which the club rightfully stood against.
His best performance for us was probably that memorable night in Paris when he scored those 2 goals , setting the stage for Rashford's heroics.
Romelu Lukaku has put together a pretty impressive football career for himself.
And now apparently Real Madrid and Chelsea amongst the clubs who will be after him this summer. I hope he stays in Italy though. He seems to be really enjoying his time at Inter.

Why do some fans have a different measuring scale for different players?
If you say rashy is a headless chicken at times or Bruno loses the ball with one touch passing you get the whole stats argument. Oh but goals
Yet lukaku scored and it's like yeah but first touch

He didn't really score enough though did he? He was the focal point of the attack and his best season was 16 league goals. Its not bad, but its not great either. Certainly not for someone who doesn't really contribute in other areas of the attack and who struggles to hold the ball up and bring others into play.
He is a good PL level striker, but I don't feel that he will ever be elite level. Nor do I think that he was the right kind of player for Ole. I do feel a bit sorry for him, as Jose/the club didn't help him with the players that we bought. A large part of Lukaku's attacking threat comes from crosses into the box, but we didn't have anyone who could actually cross at the time. But he also didn't help himself by being unfit and overweight, which I believe also impacted on his touch. Think of the goals that he used to score for Everton, where he would run from 40 or so yards from goal and hold off the defender. He was too quick and powerful for them to deal with. We didn't see enough of that at United.

ironically, and annoyingly, he was himself one of the best crossers at the club, but with him out wide we then lacked a poacher to get on the end of them

I thought Lukaku was going to be great for us when he started with like 11 goals in his 1st 10 games.
He then scored 31 goals in the next 86 appearances which isn’t near enough for a £75 million pound striker that doesn’t offer much more than goals.

I wonder what the alternative universe looks like where we signed Morata and Lukaku went to Chelsea. I think it’d work out better for both clubs.

He scored 27 goals in all competitions that season. So you've chosen the statistic that makes him look worst there.
Ultimately the guy scored 42 goals in 2 seasons at United which is more than respectable considering United didn't suit the way he plays and he wasn't first choice under Solskjaer, which was around 1/3 of those 2 seasons probably.

Overweight because of the crap served in the United canteen, probably fish n chips and sausage rolls. Medical team couldnt figure out what was wrong. Goes to Inter and they sort him out.
....:
Odd that none of the other players ended up being gut bucket lard ar$es via the United Canteen.
Idiot.

And he played for our worst manager since Ron Atkinson the other 2/3 of his time.

I'd swap Lukaku for either Martial or Rashford anytime. As bad as Lukaku is he can't be worse than what we have

Yeah. Call me old fashioned, but id take a goalscorer like Lukaku over a skillful player like Rashford or Martial.
