Chelsea 2-1 Man City – Balanced game, 2 good sides – defences of similar standards, City Carried the midfield but ultimately the Chelsea front ¾ did enough to get the job done.

Spurs 3-2 Sheff Utd – had to double check as I thought Spurs we’re playing XI men, no not that KDB argument again, but wondered who N’Golo was in the double pivot. I liked welshy’s team and tactics just Spurs are a tough place to go, let alone giving up home adv and form slots

Soton 0–2 Arsenal – I Ndidi and Valverde can offer protection to Nadz’s defence but at the cost of losing ground in midfield. NADZ play some FB/WB’s sides top heavy and lacks the balance against sides playing with natural width. Arsenal have that nice blend of pace and power, and pace in abundance out-wide – this for me is key in this game and costs Soton the result.

Portsmouth have been on a great run, top of the form table. Today they meet top of the actual table in Leicester. Pompey surrendered the midfield battle in favour of getting numbers forward. This created a fairly chaotic game where Leicester did gain control but only in patches with their CM trio. I quite like the balance of the Leicester side, the perfect role for Alaba and whilst I’m not Godfrey’s biggest fan, his pace is helpful and that’s his best role – that being said, Pompey have a strong left side in Ferland and Insigne. Without Lautaro and facing a strong CB pair, Leicester struggled at times to retain the ball high up the pitch with an aggressive Pompey up against them. Leicester’s left side is very strong and has a bit of everything. Bruno we know is high risk high reward and he found enough gaps today to have an influential game with two pre assists and a goal.
