Russell Crowe

Just seen his 85 year old father died yesterday. Crowe is a Leeds fan as most of us should know.

Losing my dad was the first time I’d lost anyone close to me. It still hurts after 48 years.

My thoughts are with Russell and his family.

Hew died suddenly on a flight. Have some compassion.

My heart goes out to Russell Crowe for his loss but it is usually the normal way of things with your parents eventually leaving this world.
My parents are still going strong at 84 and 85 so I
dred the day when one or both pass but realise unfortunately death is part of life.

You are never prepared for the loss of a Parent. I lost my Dad when I was 32 and he was 64, but my Mum lived to be 98 and I lost her a couple of years ago when I was 70 and it hurt just as much when I lost her as it did when I lost my Dad suddenly all those years ago. What I do find hard is realising that I am now of the generation that is due to “go” next!

My father died 21 years ago aged 59.
Broke my heart.

I still get moments when I feel as emotionally as pained the day he died.

I do a lot of cycling. On the anniversary of his death I usually find myself out for a 30 to 40 mile ride. Alone with my thoughts, the fresh air in my face, the physical exertion, it gives me some emotional balm.

I lost both parents last year both in their 70’s. Completely heartbreaking.

My condolences to Russell Crowe and his family. I lost my dad 5 years ago and it still hurts today. It’s horrible losing a parent/ parents

Losing a mother is even tougher, well depending on how close the relationship was. Mothers tend to be more easy going, and understanding, I miss that a lot since my Mam died 3 years ago at 91, am 62.

We think our parents will be there forever whatever age we are.
