With Haalands father and agent spotted flying into Barcelona to meet with Laporta, it appears there financial difficulties may have been overstated.
Be a great replacement for Messi should he move on, and a great loss to the rest of us.
With all the talk of United and City it would be typical for Barcelona and Real to get Haaland and Mbappe.
Haaland to Barca

I wish there was a top top player out there who wanted to be the one to bring United back to the top. Bruno’s has been the one to get us a lot closer to the top, but we need more quality to go that extra step and truly challenge the best, compete in the latter stages of CL etc. And not lose to naf clubs like Leicester and Chelsea in the FA Cup!
Unfortunately I don’t think that kind of player exists now (if it ever did). Agents are running the game somewhat and the best talent obviously want to go somewhere they’ll win the big prizes straight away
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In fairness, you can’t really blame the agents for us not being that calibre of club now. Footballers aren’t just pawns of the agents, they do have some say where they go.
I wouldn’t sign for us either it I had ambitions of winning the biggest trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nor would I tell my kid to sign for us. A player that calibre deserves to be challenging for league titles. Something this club won’t be doing anytime soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A utd fan telling his kid not to.sign for them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely a good father would put their own kid’s best interests as a footballer first over whatever team he happened to support lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah because over the years many a kids career has been ruined by signing for utd
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What an imbecile!!! You really are the rarest form of idiot. Making things up to suit your own agenda. Let me explain for a simpleton like you, the interests and happiness of my children is not close to comparable for me following united. A little google search will show united greats taking their children to City academy clown.

Literally nothing was implied or said about ruining careers. He said he thinks the player should be challenging for titles. Obviously United aren’t right now, so he would encourage other options if the player were his son. That was when you said ‘ A utd fan telling his kid not to.sign for them’
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course its implied that it's not a good career move to sign for whats still one of the biggest clubs in the world.
For a utd fan to potentialy advise his presumably also utd supporting kid not to sign for utd is quite strange given the knowledge of and investment into the great careers, success and history of his club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With the clowns at this helm, I won't be surprised if this club fails to win the league in a decade. About what is left of Haaland's career. If he is lucky and looks after himself that is.

I don’t see the issue here. I said if I had ambitions of winning the biggest trophies I wouldn’t sign for United. He’s just elaborated on that.

Chelsea or city are the only two that will or could pay that fee. United possibly but that's a drop in levels and doesn't make sense tbh. When you look at Greenwood's season under Ole it hardly fills a striker with confidence.
Barca and real have had talks, which were intentionally public/leaked, to score some fan points and hike the price up a bit. Seems impossible for either of the Spanish two to spend a fraction of the rumoured fee without selling half their squads.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on the structure of the deal though. If Dortmund sell for 130 million, I imagine both clubs could pay say, 75 million up front and spread the rest over 5 years and various classes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt either have £75m cash to pay upfront
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They will have with a couple or sales. Which was kind of my point re selling coutinho, dembele etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First they have to find a buyer, the hooe they have cash, then pay what they owe on the players they have sold. Its unlikely in my opinion
