With Rice out for a month

thus effectively ending his domestic season.

Do you think that, come the Euro's, this will force Southgate into playing Kalvin in his true position rather than the position he has been playing him in, which suits neither KP nor England.

Apparently Phillips played more minutes than any outfield england player for the last few internationals.

Unless injury hits he must have a space on the flight

sometimes I have to shake my head in disbelief

firstly to have KP with a very good chance of playing for England in the euros, last time I saw a Leeds player playing at that level was Rio Ferdinand!

then, to think its KP.. was only 2.5 years ago we all pretty much said / thought he'd never get near a promotion winning team, talking as fans supporting a mid-table championship club.

its actually rather amazing when you think about it.

Think about all the mediocre players we had for years before Bielsa. was Luke Varney actually as good as Leroy Sane? David Norris the new Gatusso? Antenucci the reincarnation of David Villa?

What Bielsa has done with these players is nothing short of astounding.

yeah, totally agree... having said that, when I think back to previous players.. one person that springs to mind is Beckford... totally love the guy, but I couldn't see him sprinting about as Bielsa insists.. mind you, was he the next ronaldo?

You'd have laughed if someone said a few years ago that he'd be starting in the next Euros. Or last season if someone said Bamford would be in with a shout of a call up. Even Ayling was getting mentioned as an outsider.

A few of our players probably unlucky that England have some ridiculous depth in certain positions. A lot of good English RBs and LWs around at the moments, otherwise Ayling and Harrison should probably be being considered.

Not a chance of Ayling, Harrison or Bamford getting a call with Southgate in charge, he has his inner sanctum, his favourite players and sticks to those players. One example of this is him blindly fielding Maguire and Stones when by far the best English CB is Coady, and I know Coady gets in the squad but he's dropped for the harder games.
But if Ayling, for example, were to get in the squad, Southgate wouldn't be able to coach him. Walker always looks a shadow of the player turns out for City, would expect the same with Bill.

Stones and Maguire are having good seasons. Both are in form. Very good argument to say that Stone is one of the most in form defenders in the world.

Coady a specialist player suiting a back three. Harder to work into the team in a back four.

I cant think of another established player who i have seen make the improvements Phillips has.

Its not like he was some youth player who came good, guy had well of a hundred games under his belt.

And bielsa saw something in his game to me him the player he now is
