Aubameyang and Arsenal Culture

I believe Auba missed those chances against Olympiacos on purpose, just to make a point. His attitude since NLD where he was sanctioned by the club for coming late, has highlighted the difficult job Arteta is facing.

The lazy culture under Wenger contributed to what we see now on and off the pitch, no wonder Mikel is fighting so many players from Gwendouzi to Auba, Ozil before that and other deadwoods still at the club.

I will support the manager until all the bad apples are sent packing from our dear club. We need more of Tierney, Odegaard and Saka and less of the likes of Auba. We should seriously strip him of the Captaincy and find ways to offload the guy, I don’t care if we take a loss.

Next, we should also offload Xhaka, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Gwendouzi etl before they infect our youngsters with the awful lazy attitudes of the past.

Personally I think Auba is fed up with the retain the ball at any cost tactics and being forced to be a front line defender. Square peg in a round hole.

Is it right for fans to continue making such ridiculous statements unchecked.

Out of interest when does the Wenger era and his hold on the club actually end? I dont even remember Wenger finishing 8th or whatever positions we seem to finish in under his successors

5th under Emery, 8th under Emery and Arteta and I hope we can get as high as 8th under Arteta.

I agree with you though. Auba, Laca, Willian, Ozil and others were considered world class but under Arteta are questioned as whether they should even be starters even though we are now a midtable club.

So Auba manages the golden boot 1st season under Emery, pushes for the golden boot his 2nd season, mostly under Emery. Then now in his 1st full season under Arteta, will be nowhere near the golden boot come game 38. And people really think the issue here is Auba?

OP he never missed anything "on purpose" he's just an unhappy player in a generally unhappy squad, being forced to play in a way he can't stand. You won't get good form for any length of time in those circumstances. That is the vast majority of the squad and I'm sure even the few happy players, would be happier and even better performing, if the team was allowed to play the football it is wants to and is equipped to play.

Attitude is a direct reflection of leadership, Arteta has projected nothing but a stinking bad attitude from the moment he stepped through the door. It's no surpise whatsoever that his team is bouncing it straight back at him. Or at least it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Are you suggesting we sack Mikel and things will improve?

Damned straight I am

That said though I do adamantly believe that we could also improve things greatly by keeping Arteta and simply forcing him to scrap his stupid "I'm going to make them play like City cos I wannabe Pep" idea he's gotten into his head.

Sack him or force his hand, I couldn't really care less since either or will produce the vastly improved results getting us back to somewhere near the performance levels we took for granted some 15 years or so. Although, 18 months here already would suggest that assuming relationships with players are salvageable, the force his hand option is the better one for the club. All depends on whether he's been too much of an asswad to ever get the dressing room back. If that's happened then it has to be sack him.

Arteta won't Drop Auba he will play every game possible.

This article...sheesh.

I will say that Auba is horribly out of form and if he is not scoring, he adds nothing to the team. Would like to see Martinelli given a run ( not one game) on that left side.

I'd also love to see Arteta pick a back line and stick with it for a bit aye. We have great individual players but the constant chopping and changing especially at CB does not help in creating a partnership across the back line
