Tired of hearing rubbish

You're showing an incredible amount of naivety with this article Sandy. You cite the last 30 years when you seem to ignore the one factor which has forever changed the landscape of football since Sky first got involved roughly 28 years ago ....MONEY AND THE UCL . Ferguson had nearly five years at utd before winning the fa cup saved his job, having taken that long to build a decent team in his image. Then the ucl was born which enabled the teams involved at its birth to leverage player signings over other teams with wages and the attraction of playing at the top level that other teams couldn't compete with. Ferguson also openly admitted to using corporate tactics to facilitate this dominance by taking the best players from clubs that were building decent teams eg cole.. newcastle yorke.. villa ferdinand cantona... leeds carrick sheringham (and tried to get anderton) at spurs. This pattern has only been broken by sugar daddy clubs blackburn temporarily in the 90s, Chelsea and City though more permanently since then which meant ferguson was less able to dominate with these tactics in the same way he had previously. Arsenal like ourselves have been crippled by having to buy new stadiums which is going to mean a long term transition as we are both ran as businesses. Seriously how can anyone compete with city when they are funded by a state? Its led to football becoming completely boring at the top level FFP is a complete joke! Please don't cite leicester... we were the best team in the premier league that year. The run in was a joke any team leicester played practically pulled down their pants to 'enable the fairytale to come true' whilst we had to endure eden hazard holding the ball in the corner at stamford bridge with ten mins to go in order to stop spurs winning the game. That is embarrasing. Pochettino was the best thing that ever happened to spurs in modern times he gave us a structure a progressive identity, to achieve what he achieved in that landscape with those players was phenomenal and he was treated disgustingly. jose hase had more backing then pochettino ever had whilst fans like yourself come out with"What did he win?". Now all we hear pundits harp on about is Kane must go to Utd or City to win things.... how incredibly boring football has become.

Spurs have reached a large number of semi finals and finals in the last 30 years. Our semi final -> trophy conversion must be the poorest in the football pyramid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs niw hold the record for eight successive fa cup defeats. In the 1960s, 70s, 80s, right up until 1991, they won seven successive fa cup semi-finals. The change in mentality is staggering.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well Jose hasn't changed that has he despite winning everything in the game

I think people make too much of eight successive defeats. It’s not a great stat and we have lost games against opposition we should have beaten but most of the time the team you face in a cup semi tends to be a top 4 team. They’re just marginally better than us and they have been for decades. It’s not mentality or bad luck. We probably weren’t expected to win them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nonsense. It's a losers mentality. Plenty of teams have beaten teams in cup games, that were considered better than them. As I said prior to the eight semis losses in a row, Spurs had won seven semi finals in a row Purely down to mental strength of actually wanting to win.

Not sure Jose has a losing Spurs semi on his CV. He has a 100 per cent record of winning domestic semi-final's at Spurs.

Point of order:

SAF most certainly did not go out all corporate to get Cantona. He was flabbergasted to be offered him (for one million) in a routine phone call with the Leeds Manager. He bit his hand off in less than a second.

Sheringham's agent offered him twice. Anderson even took a medical before pulling out. All in SAF's book.

Kinda destroys your initial premise, OP, whether you are a Sandy fanboy, or not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He openly admitted that when he considered transfers one of factors was weakening a team in the process maybe not so much with Cantona as I agree I think I remember there were discipline issues involved.

Sandy is a massive wum but he’s a Spurs fan, no doubt
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure why anybody would think I am not a Spurs fan, when I have been to more Spurs games I suspect than anybody on the board, and still regularly go to WHL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah but nobody knows that. They only go on what you post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I could not care whether anybody knows or not. It's no big deal to me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which is fine, but not really the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well it really is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

sigh. No it isn't. You say "Not sure why anybody would think I'm not a Spur fan when I have probably been to more games etc etc."

The point is nobody knows that. It is only what you say. You say a lot of things on here which are proven to be rubbish. So people can only judge you based on what you say on here. Not how many games you say you have been to.

So whether you care or not about what people think is completely irrelevant to the point I made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The point being as I said I don't really care. Only I know how many games I gave been to, and I really don't have to prove it to anyone else on this forum.

Meanwhile, another gifted penalty for Penited, scored by Penandes, after Penandes walked into an outstretched arm and threw himself to the floor.

Unsurprisingly, the referee was looking straight at the incident, as if he was expecting a last minute dive from a Penited player, nobody will be surprised that he gave Penited a penalty for a nothing challenge, whereby a Penited player initiates contact on an outstretched arm.

Hopefully Penited have used up their weekly penalty in the Europa and are not gifted another against Spurs.
